Diary 29th July 2026 When Love Shows Up in Little Things: Spaghetti, Laundry, and an Evening Walk
Hello everyone, good afternoon or evening depending on the time you’re reading my diary.
Sorry I’ve been off.
I’ve been down since yesterday and I just couldn’t bring myself to post. The weather has been so cold, and the mosquitoes were everywhere. On top of that, I had a bitter mouth and I was so tired. My body felt heavy and my spirit felt even heavier. But today, I thank God Almighty. I feel much better.
I woke up this morning and the first thing I did was thank God for life. Even in the cold, even with the mosquitoes, I woke up. That alone is grace.
And thankfully, my fiancé came around today. He saw how down I was and he just stepped in to help without me even asking too much. He swept the house, cleaned everywhere, and washed my laundry. It might sound like little things, but when you’re not feeling well, those little things feel like the biggest love.
After he was done, he went into the kitchen and prepared spaghetti and beans for me. He served me himself. Sitting there and eating food someone made for you with care hits differently. I ate slowly because my mouth was still bitter, but the food was warm and comforting. After eating, I took my drugs and slept. My body really needed that rest.
Later in the evening, he noticed I was still a bit low. He said, “Let’s stroll out so you won’t feel too down.” And I’m glad we did. We stepped out and walked a little around the Industrial Area road. The air was cool from the cold weather, but walking with him made it feel safe. We didn’t walk for too long. We just found a place to sit, talked a bit, and watched the evening come in slowly. The sky was turning dark, and there was a quietness that made me feel calm.
It reminded me that sometimes healing doesn’t come from big things. Sometimes it’s someone choosing to sit with you, someone cooking for you, someone saying “let’s go outside” when you want to stay in bed.
When it got dark, we came back home. I took my shower — that warm water felt like washing the tiredness off me. After that I ate again, took my drugs, and just settled in.
Today wasn’t loud. It wasn’t perfect. But it was full of care. Full of love. Full of God’s mercy.
I’m grateful for my fiancé, for the rest, for the food, for the short walk, and for feeling a little bit lighter than yesterday. I’m learning that it’s okay to be down sometimes. And it’s also okay to let people help you up.
I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but for today, I’m thankful.
