The Diary Game: Porridge, Finished Animes, and Warming Up Before the Rain (26/04/2026)

Hello everyone! This is @gideonova and welcome back to another session of my diary. Today was genuinely satisfying from start to finish. Let's get into it!

I woke up really late today — I had taken some herbs the previous night and they sent me into a deep, proper sleep that my body clearly needed. When I finally got up my mom already had some tasks lined up for me. I got them done and then noticed she was cooking porridge. My face lit up immediately — porridge is genuinely my favourite and the smell of it cooking is enough to make the whole morning feel right. 😄

We sat down for breakfast and I had porridge with beans on the side for extra flavour. That combination was something else — the softness of the porridge paired with the richness of the beans made every spoonful more enjoyable than the last. After eating my brother dressed up and headed out for his exam while I settled into scrolling through Facebook and checking some WhatsApp messages. 🍲

Then NEPA brought light and the house shifted into action immediately. My mom went to pump water while I started charging all our electronics. I turned on the laptop and while it was booting up I went and loaded the clothes into the washing machine. When I came back to the laptop I finally did something I had been meaning to do for a while — I sat down and watched all the anime episodes I had never managed to finish. Jack of All Trades, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, and The Boys Presents Diabolical — one after another. 🎬

When NEPA eventually took the light again it honestly did not sting this time. I had finished everything I wanted to watch. That feeling of completing a watchlist is genuinely satisfying. By this point the afternoon had fully arrived.

In the afternoon I checked a few things on Facebook then went to deal with the laundry. My mom had already rinsed and spun the clothes in the machine — all that was left was to spread them outside under the sun. I took them out and laid them across the drying line. 🌤️

After that I went out to buy some wara (soft white cheese) and came back home to eat rice and beans with it. Wara is an excellent replacement for meat — it is pure protein, it holds its own in any meal, and it added a wonderful extra dimension of flavour to the food. Highly recommended. 😋 After eating I played some games for a while but the boredom crept in so I went to the bedroom to lie down and started watching Facebook videos — comedy clips, life lessons, and everything in between — and that carried me all the way to the evening.

In the evening my brother arrived back from his exams. He freshened up and rested a bit before he and my mom headed out to get some things, leaving me alone at home. I jumped into some Free Fire to keep myself company. Then I checked the time — 6:20PM — and looked outside. The sky was shifting. Rain was clearly on its way and my mom and brother were still out. 🌧️

Rather than just wait I decided to start warming all the available leftover food so that when they got back their workload would be lighter. They arrived not long after and shortly after that the rain started coming down — not heavily but enough to get you wet and send a cold chill through you. By the time it started falling everything was already warmed and ready. I fed my dog and sat down to close out the day with the remaining porridge and beans. Coming full circle from breakfast to dinner with the same favourite meal felt like a perfect ending. 💛

How was your day? I hope it wasn't too stressful. See you next time! 💕

Thank you so much for reading my diary! 💕
