We had already planned the trip because my grandmother had called and told us that we had not visited her for a long time since the death of our grandfather. We felt it was important to go home and spend some time with her. The day before the trip, we started making preparations. I sent my sister to the market to buy some of the things we would need for our journey. She went to the market and was able to get everything I asked her to buy. It did not take her too long, and she later called to let me know that she had finished shopping and was on her way home. While waiting for her, I was at home relaxing and enjoying myself. Before long, she arrived with all the items we needed. Later that day, my boyfriend got ready and left for work. As evening approached, we began putting things in order for our trip the next day. We arranged the necessary items and made sure everything was ready. Since we would not be at home the following day, there was no need to cook or do any major preparations. Later, my sister took her bath and got dressed because she wanted to go and fix her hair before our journey. After getting ready, she left and returned after some time. Not long after that, my immediate younger sister came home as well. That evening, we all spent time together discussing the trip. We joked about how things would be in the village and talked about the people we would see when we arrived. We were all excited because it had been a long time since we had visited home. The thought of seeing our grandmother again made us happy, and we looked forward to spending time with her. By the end of the day, everything was set for the journey. We prepared the mixture for the puff-puff separately so that it could rise properly before frying.
