The Diary Game: 14th July 2026; Finally today I conquer the fear of using my gas Oven ever since I bought my standing gas. 🥰

Hi, besties! Good evening, and welcome back to another diary with your girl, Naomi. 💕🥰

How was your day? I hope you all had a lovely one because mine was actually very okay. I enjoyed my day, and as always, I’m here to share every little detail with you. So, this was how I spent my day.

This morning, immediately after waking up, I headed straight to the bathroom to brush my teeth and freshen up. As soon as I was done, the first thing that came to my mind was the pile of dirty clothes that had been sitting in my wardrobe for quite some time, including my bedsheets. I’ve honestly been feeling too lazy to wash them for days, but luckily, today I finally found the strength and motivation. I told myself, “No matter what happens today, these clothes must be washed.”

So, after brushing my teeth, I gathered everything from my wardrobe, carried them to the bathroom, and started washing them by hand since I don’t have a washing machine yet. It wasn’t an easy task because there were quite a lot of clothes, but I kept going until I finished every single one of them. By the time I was done, I felt so proud of myself because I’d been putting it off for so long.

After washing them, I spread all the clothes and bedsheets outside to dry. Then I came back inside and mopped the entire house. Honestly, I accomplished a lot today. Unlike my usual days as a stay-at-home girl where I sometimes end up lying down and feeling bored, today I was busy from morning till afternoon. It actually felt good to be productive.

Once I was done with all the house chores, I started thinking about what to eat. Since I already planned to go to the market later to buy ingredients for stew, I didn’t want to cook anything heavy before leaving the house. I simply boiled the last egg I had, paired it with a cup of tea, and that became my breakfast. It was light but enough to keep me going.

After eating, I went to the bathroom to have my bath and get ready for the market. By then, it was already around 11 a.m. I got dressed and headed out.

When I got to the market, I bought everything I needed to prepare my stew. I bought fresh tomatoes, pepper, and meat. Honestly, the prices of tomatoes and pepper are unbelievably high these days. I spent about ₦8,000 on just a small quantity of tomatoes. It was shocking, but that’s the reality of the rainy season. People say tomatoes don’t grow as much during this period because the heavy rains affect the harvest, so prices usually go up.

I also bought some pepper, goat meat, and chicken for the stew.

After returning home, I washed the tomatoes thoroughly and wanted to blend them immediately, but unfortunately there was no electricity. Since I couldn’t blend them yet, I decided to leave them aside and make use of the waiting time.

I washed both the goat meat and chicken very well, seasoned them, and cooked them. Then something happened today that made me really happy. For the very first time since I bought my standing gas cooker, I finally used the oven!

I’ve honestly been scared of using gas appliances, especially the oven. I’ve always been afraid of doing something wrong. But today, I decided to overcome that fear. I went online, searched for a tutorial on how to use the gas oven, followed the instructions carefully, and to my surprise, I got it right on my first try.

I used the oven to roast the meat, and it came out beautifully. I was honestly so proud of myself because it felt like I had conquered one of my fears. It may seem like a small achievement to some people, but for me, it was a really big step.

After that, I continued waiting for electricity. Thankfully, sometime between 3 and 4 p.m., the light finally came back. I quickly blended the tomatoes and headed back into the kitchen to prepare my stew.

After spending some time cooking, my stew was finally ready, and let me just say… it turned out so delicious! I was so happy with how everything came together.

Oh, and before I forget, while I was at the market, I also bought my Vitamin C supplements. I love taking them because I believe taking care of your health is just as important as taking care of your appearance. Looking good isn’t only about what people see on the outside; it’s also about staying healthy from within. That’s something I always try to prioritize.

I also bought a new lip scrub because the one I had finished. I absolutely love taking care of my lips. I like them looking soft, smooth, hydrated, and healthy instead of dry or chapped. It may seem like a very small purchase, but it’s one of those little things that genuinely make me happy.

After cooking, I served myself some food, ate, and rested for a while. Then I picked up my phone and spent some time scrolling online, chatting, and watching videos. Since I’m usually alone at home, my phone keeps me entertained most of the time. If you’ve been following my daily diaries, then you already know that’s usually how I spend my quiet moments.

Later in the evening, around 6 or 7 p.m., I went outside to bring in the clothes I had washed earlier. Thankfully, they were completely dry because, unlike the previous rainy days, the sun came out today. I was so happy I didn’t have to worry about damp clothes.

After bringing everything inside, I headed back to the kitchen, warmed up the stew I made earlier, and had it again for dinner. Honestly, I wasn’t about to stress myself by cooking another meal when I already had something delicious waiting for me.

Overall, today was a really productive day. I washed clothes, cleaned the house, went to the market, conquered my fear of using the gas oven, prepared a delicious pot of stew, bought a few self-care essentials, and still found time to relax. It wasn’t one of those boring days where I stayed in bed all day. I actually got so much done, and I’m genuinely proud of myself.

And that’s how my day went, besties. Thank you so much for spending another day with me. I hope you enjoyed today’s diary. If you did, don’t forget to take care of yourselves, stay safe, and I’ll see you all in my next diary.

Good night, and God bless you. ❤️
