All about the night of Eid al-Adha
Dear friends, admins, and all moderators of this beloved community. May we always be under His protection!
The night of Eid al-Adha, often called Takbiran Night, is a night that is characteristic of welcoming the Feast of Sacrifice, filled with spiritual values, the reverberations of the Takbir, and the busy preparation for slaughtering sacrificial animals.
Regarding the start of the Takbiran on Eid al-Adha, the reverberations of the Takbir can be recited at dawn on the day of Arafah, which is the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah. The atmosphere of Eid al-Adha celebrations tends to be more busy, as there are many things we can do to cultivate social values that lead to the seeds of good deeds.
Just as we did on the eve of last Eid al-Fitr, the entire mosque welfare committee of our village, in collaboration with the mosque youth section, once again held a takbiran recitation in the same location, in the courtyard of our village cafe.
This activity was especially inspiring for us on the mosque welfare committee, who had previously raised funds and other resources to make this charitable activity possible.
We held the recitation after congregational Isha prayers on the night of the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah 1447. All of our fellow mosque committee members, mosque youth, and takbiran participants from each village within our mosque immediately headed to the takbiran recitation stage we had prepared in the courtyard of our village cafe.
This activity was greeted with joy by our villagers, as this is a rare event, especially at our village cafe. Before starting the echo takbir event together, we have also prepared various agendas, namely taking blessings from the reading of the holy verses of the Holy Quran, the recitation of the Badar prayer, welcoming words and directions from the committee and the mosque imam, the echo of the start of the takbir opened by the mosque prosperity board, the echo takbir chanted by the participants as the main event, and the closing and prayer led by the imam of our village mosque.
Here are some documentation of the takbiran (Islamic call for alms) activities that took place in the courtyard of our village cafe:
Although Eid al-Adha celebrations tend to be more fraught with charitable activities, the atmosphere is still somewhat quiet and subdued compared to Eid al-Fitr celebrations. This may be because offering sacrifice is much more difficult than forgiving. This means that on Eid al-Adha, we are encouraged to slaughter a sacrificial animal, which many of us, despite being able to do so, do not do. This is in contrast to Eid al-Fitr celebrations, where the payment of zakat al-fitr is only obligatory according to applicable regulations.
Friends, that concludes my presentation for today. I welcome your suggestions and comments. Please forgive me for any errors in this post. Wassalam.
