Incredible India Monthly Contest of June#2: Nature vs Technology!
Hello everyone,
Thank you for organizing this interesting contest in the name of Incredible India Community. I am delighted to participate in this exciting contest. The topic “Nature vs Technology” is a deep one, with the influence both nature and technology have on our lives. Nowadays, technology is rapidly advancing, but nature is still the basis of human life. To me this is not about picking one or rejecting the other, but rather about knowing how they work, their strengths and their impact on our lives.
Do you think that nature or science and technology is more powerful?
My personal view is that nature is more powerful than science and technology. Technology is impressive, useful and useful but nature is greater because it is there before the man invented science. Humans learn what they can from the nature and apply it to make technology. In many ways, technology is derived from the nature.
Human beings can construct houses, roads, machines and even fly in airplanes, but when nature goes crazy and wreaks havoc on the planet in the form of an earthquake, flood, hurricane, drought or volcanic eruption, these are destroyed in a flash. Technology can predict the weather, and prepare people for it, but it cannot be fully controlled by technology. Heavy rain can wreak havoc on roads, a strong wind can down electric poles and too much heat can harm crops and health. It is evident from these that nature still extends authority over life on earth.
Another reason I think nature is more powerful is because it's what humans survive by. We have to breath the air, drink water, enjoy the sun and eat the food. These are nature's gifts and without them no technology can sustain human life for long. While technology can make us more comfortable, better communicated, better transported and better in our health, it can never take the place of the basic foundation which nature offers.
Invention is from nature! Your viewpoint
I very much agree that nature is the source of invention. Indeed, numerous inventions were made by watching the nature! Humans have imitated nature since time immemorial. People observed the flying of birds in the air and were inspired to make airplanes. Ships and submarines were inspired by fish and sea creatures. Medical science has been inspired by the human body, as well as robotics.
Balance, order, design and survival lessons from nature. Scientists use to find ideas in plants, animals, water, the sky or even in the human body that give rise to an invention. This is the proof that nature is not only beautiful to look upon but it is also a teacher. Many of the things which we consider to be modern inventions today have commenced from observing nature.
I also think that nature is more inspirational than machines. It is a source of inspiration for architecture, medicine, farming technique, clothing design and energy production. The sun provides solar energy, air provides wind energy and water provides hydroelectric power. These are all examples of things that nature provides human beings with ideas and resources to use and make useful technology.
Every action, its reaction, to nature, science and technology! Justify the term
In the world of nature, science and technology, the phrase “for every action, there is an equal reaction” is quite accurate. In nature, it can be desertification, erosion and climate issues if people keep harvesting trees and don't plant new ones. When rivers become polluted the reaction is the aquatic life suffers and human beings may lose the clean water flow in the river as well. What we do to nature, it does to us.
In the world of science and technology, there are also outcomes of the inventions – good and bad. For instance, the mobile phone and internet have facilitated the ease and rapidity of communication. Nowadays, people can learn online, conduct business, and communicate with their loved ones. This is the positive reaction. There are also negative reactions like distraction, fake news, cybercrime and excessive dependence on the devices.
Mechanisation, machines and artificial intelligence can make life easier, but with their inappropriate use they can cause unemployment, decrease interaction with others and even pollute the environment by wasting resources. Therefore the need for wisdom in the use of science and technology. Careful thought needs to be given to the consequences of human behavior.
Conclusion
In summary, I feel that both nature and technology are essential, but nature is the more powerful as it is the source of life and the basis for the development of science and technology. The world has progressed immensely with technology, however, it still relies on the natural resources, natural laws, and environment. Many inventions are also derived from nature as people tend to learn from their surroundings to make things.
Last, "for every action there is a reaction," which is a reminder to be responsible. If we misuse nature, nature will react. When technology is used unwisely, society will be held accountable as well. Thus, the best course of action is to avoid making nature and technology opposites, and to use technology judiciously and in a respectful way that doesn't harm nature.
