I think "self-sacrifice" is not just about sacrificing one's own interests, but it is the ultimate expression of love. At every turn of life, we see people sacrificing their small joys or big dreams for the smile on the face of their loved ones. Doing this is not an obligation, but rather a decision that comes from the depths of a person's heart. For example, a father works hard all day just to feed his child, or a mother pays for her child's education with that money instead of buying her favorite clothes. To me, sacrifice means a bridge that maintains people's respect and affection for each other. This is a great quality of our people that teaches us to overcome selfishness.

Of course, I believe with all my heart that self-sacrifice works as the backbone of a relationship, no relationship is possible with only one-sided gain. When a person gives up some of his own convenience for the happiness of another, in this case a kind of gratitude and debt is created in the mind of the other person, and this helps to increase mutual trust. However, there is a subtle difference here, such as if the sacrifice is spontaneous, it will make the relationship beautiful. If someone repeatedly accepts the sacrifice due to compulsion or inability, then in the long run, the bitterness in that relationship will continue to increase. Therefore, it is very important to maintain a balance between sacrifice and compromise to maintain a healthy relationship.

This whole issue is a deep psychological issue. Humans are social creatures and by nature they want recognition for their good deeds, if theoretically speaking, the sacrifice will be selfless. But in real life, when a person helps someone out of a big danger, they expect at least a little respect or gratitude, although it is not wrong to expect this much. I think it is our responsibility to respect the person who will sacrifice himself for us. If someone gets only neglect even after helping them repeatedly, then at some point their interest in you will decrease. As a result, if self-sacrifice is celebrated with respect, it will have a positive effect on society.
