At about 5:30AM, a mother is up, in the kitchen preparing basic things needed to start the day, for her beloved husband and Children. Though her eyes is still heavy, she does this every week, without complain. Don't you think she should hire a maid? ‎She smiles seeing her two lovely kid; leave for school in their school bus, waving bye to her. She's satisfy because her kids and husband has left for school and work before 7AM.‎Now she rushed to the bathroom, from there, she ate breakfast and off to her workplace. Should this be a life of a working mother of two kids?

How do you glance at the term "Self-sacrifice"? Describe.

In that scenario I'll say: That's "Self-sacrifice".
‎Self-sacrifice is a humble (not agitated ) decision to let go of something valuable to you or your comfort for the sake of others. Most times it doesn't appear polished, it appears as an exhaustion, scars, even uncomfortable state no one else sees.

That mother situation makes this understandable, her husband and kids are always happy that the have a hero who gets them ready for the day, but, do they think about the heavy eyes she press down to get them prepared for the day? This shows that Self-sacrifice is not free, it come with a price.

‎What drives it then? "Love" like in that mother's case. And another could be driven by belief, pressure, expectation or something else. On the other hand, the price to pay, can be burnout, lack of sleep, resentment and sometimes regret.

Do you believe self-sacrifice often helps to enhance relationships? Share your viewpoint!

‎Yes it does. Going back to the mother's daily routine, we can see, the husband and kids really have confident in her, which makes them surely feels happy to have her as their hero. They all trust and believe in her without a single doubt that she'll disappoint them.

With the mother's hard work, the husband and kids can learn to reciprocate the love, making it a mutual and voluntary sacrifice not one-sided, but driven by love care althrough.

Self-sacrifice often seeks recognition and respect in return. I invite you to share your justification regarding this notion!

‎Imagine if the mother's sacrifice her comfort for her husband and kids but the don't appreciate her by cooperating with her. Lets say, she goes to wake her kids up for bath and other necessary things but they are stubborn to leave the bed.

How will the mother feel about that? Apparently her Self-sacrifice is not recognized or respected by her kids. But since her sacrifice was driven by love, that won't stop her from still caring and helping her kids get ready for the day.

Truly, I will say Self-sacrifice doesn't seeks recognition but it deserves it. On the other hand, since Self-sacrifice can be driven by other things other than "love", it may be pressure, belief, what to expect back from one sacrifice, among others. If not driven by a positive aim, it may seek recognition and respect.

In conclusion

Self-sacrifice is a humble decision to give up something precious and valuable to you for the sake of others comfort. If driven by love, it's worth the stress because it brings happiness and satisfaction. Sincere and appreciative people would recognize you for your sacrifice, giving way to trust and enhance relationship. Additionally, self-sacrifice deserves recognition and respect, it doesn't seeks it, if driven with the right or positive aim.
