Incredible India Monthly Contest of July#2: Skills or Degree!
Hello my dear Steemians,
As human we are all different, some of us skilled from point of view creating something with their own hands, we love building, making, cooking, creating. The other people have more skills in writing, creating but something like music, maybe mathematics, science, technology.
When we were children we always like to compare what is better to be for example carpenter or electrician or better to be for example teacher, scientist or nurse or doctor. For us, children we always thought that to have a profession where we work with our hands this is less important then when to be scientist.
On other hand, I remember how my grandmother told that without an electrician who would establish the network so that we have electricity and with it Internet. That means that job as electrician is more important. Also if we think that if a scientist will have no food, no milk, no bread from farmer then even him as a scientist will not be able to make their discoveries and bring our technology to its stage where we are now.
When we look around we may notice that there are much that is done by skilled people:
- construction: building houses, streets, bridges
- electricity: we all have lights in our houses, our equipment works using energy, hospital uses equipment to save lives, food industry cooking and baking using energy
- clean cities: councils have the service that is cleaning streets, collecting garbage and making our street and our cities cleaning
- farmers: they are also very important and skilled people who provide us with food they have their skills in planting vegetables, fruits, wheat and also having cattle and producing meat so that we have enough food
I do not think that one is more important or one can sustain without the other. Often we all have mo respect from someone who is doctor, professor, teacher, banker but we often forget about the profession that are the basis of our society like nursery carers, cleaners, waiters, bakers and many many other professions that help us to live and sustain our lifestyle. I think we should starting from nursery and school time to advertise those professions.
