Ciao a tutti amici e amiche di Italy e di Steemit.

Negli ultimi giorni è tornato un grande dibattito nella community Bitcoin.

Michael Saylor, presidente esecutivo di Strategy, ha dichiarato che il famoso ciclo quadriennale legato all’halving potrebbe essere ormai superato.

Secondo Saylor, Bitcoin è cambiato: oggi il prezzo non è più guidato solo dai piccoli investitori e dal ciclo dell’offerta, ma anche dai grandi capitali istituzionali.

ETF spot, aziende che accumulano Bitcoin nei bilanci e nuovi investitori professionali stanno trasformando il mercato.

E questa teoria ha sicuramente una base reale. E anche io la condivido. Non è più il Bitcoin degli inizi, nel 2026 è molto diverso dal Bitcoin del 2017.

Ma il ciclo dell’halving è davvero morto?

Non tutti sono d’accordo. E sinceramente, anche io ho qualche dubbio in proposito visto che storicamente, dopo ogni halving si è ripetuto uno schema abbastanza simile:

riduzione della nuova offerta
fase di accumulo
crescita del prezzo
nuovo massimo storico
correzione

Anche il ciclo attuale, iniziato con l’halving di aprile 2024, per ora presenta alcune somiglianze con il passato: il massimo storico è arrivato circa 18 mesi dopo, come avvenuto nei cicli precedenti.

Questo non significa che il futuro sarà identico al passato.

Bitcoin è cambiato e anche il suo ciclo potrebbe evolversi.

Ma dichiarare che il ciclo dell’halving sia definitivamente morto mi sembra ancora prematuro.

Non dimentichiamoci che l’halving continuerà a ridurre la quantità di nuovi Bitcoin creati, è un dato di fatto.
È una caratteristica fondamentale del protocollo.

È anche vero che il mercato oggi deve confrontarsi con una realtà nuova: gli investitori istituzionali e gli ETF, che sicuramente hanno messo in discussione le regole del gioco e modificato le dinamiche di Bitcoin.

Ma come al solito vedremo nei prossimi mesi se Bitcoin ha perso il suo ciclo… o magari ha solo iniziato una nuova fase della sua storia.

In recent days, a major debate has returned to the Bitcoin community.

Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy, stated that the famous four-year cycle linked to the halving may now be outdated.

According to Saylor, Bitcoin has changed: today, its price is no longer driven only by retail investors and the supply cycle, but also by large institutional capital.

Spot ETFs, companies accumulating Bitcoin on their balance sheets, and new professional investors are transforming the market.

And this theory definitely has a real foundation. I also share part of this view. Bitcoin is no longer the same as it was in the early days; in 2026, it is very different from the Bitcoin of 2017.

But is the halving cycle really dead?

Not everyone agrees. And honestly, I still have some doubts because historically, after each halving, a similar pattern has appeared:

reduction in new supply
accumulation phase
price growth
new all-time high
correction

The current cycle, which started with the April 2024 halving, still shows some similarities with the past: the all-time high arrived about 18 months later, as happened in previous cycles.

This does not mean the future will be exactly the same as the past.

Bitcoin has changed, and its cycle could evolve as well.

But declaring that the halving cycle is definitely dead still seems premature to me.

We should not forget that the halving will continue to reduce the amount of new Bitcoin being created. This is a fact and a fundamental characteristic of the protocol.

At the same time, the market today has to deal with a new reality: institutional investors and ETFs, which have certainly challenged the old rules and changed Bitcoin’s dynamics.

But, as always, the next few months will show us whether Bitcoin has truly lost its cycle… or whether it has simply entered a new phase of its history.
