Crypto + AI: innovazione o solo marketing? / Crypto + AI: real innovation or just marketing? [ITA/ENG]
Ciao a tutti amici e amiche di Italy e di Steemit.
Negli ultimi tempi sto notando sempre più progetti crypto che inseriscono la parola “AI” ovunque.
AI token. AI blockchain. AI decentralizzata.
Sulla carta suona tutto futuristico.
Nella pratica… spesso è difficile capire cosa ci sia davvero dietro.
A volte ho la sensazione che basti aggiungere “AI” al nome per attirare attenzione (e capitali).
Un po’ come succedeva con il “metaverse” qualche tempo fa.
Non sto dicendo che sia tutto fuffa. Anzi, l’unione tra intelligenza artificiale e blockchain potrebbe avere senso in futuro.
Ma oggi sembra più una narrativa che una realtà concreta.
Molti promettono “AI decentralizzata”, ma pochi spiegano come funziona davvero.
l’AI, per funzionare bene, ha bisogno di potenza computazionale enorme e soprattutto di dati.
E queste due cose oggi sono molto centralizzate, e in mano alle big tech.
Va anche detto che addestrare modelli tipo ChatGPT in modo davvero decentralizzato, e competere con colossi come OpenAI o Google, è e resterà molto difficile.
Nel breve periodo quindi tanta narrativa e poco di concreto.
Nel lungo, però, qualcosa secondo me nascerà.
Probabilmente non sarà 100% decentralizzato, ma un compromesso.
E quindi forse oggi non siamo davanti a una vera rivoluzione… ma all’ennesima moda del mercato.

Lately, I’ve been noticing more and more crypto projects throwing the word “AI” everywhere.
AI tokens. AI blockchains. Decentralized AI.
On paper, it all sounds futuristic.
In reality… it’s often hard to understand what’s actually behind it.
Sometimes it feels like just adding “AI” to the name is enough to attract attention (and capital).
A bit like what happened with the “metaverse” some time ago.
I’m not saying it’s all nonsense.
In fact, the combination of artificial intelligence and blockchain could make sense in the future.
But right now, it feels more like a narrative than a concrete reality.
Many promise “decentralized AI”, but very few actually explain how it really works.
The problem is that AI, to work properly, requires massive computational power and, above all, data.
And today, both of these are still highly centralized, in the hands of big tech.
It’s also worth saying that training models like ChatGPT in a truly decentralized way - and competing with giants like OpenAI or Google - is (and will remain) very difficult.
So in the short term: a lot of narrative and not much substance.
In the long run, though, something will likely emerge.
It probably won’t be 100% decentralized, but rather a compromise.
So maybe today we’re not looking at a real revolution…
but just another market trend.
