Greetings friends and welcome to my shop and share experience. Join me on this ride as we explore a supermarket I love to buy from within my area.

Tell us why you chose that supermarket or mini market

Today I have done my shop and share challenge in Justrite superstores. Justrite superstores is located at 57/58 jagun Molu street, Bariga, Lagos state. It’s the biggest supermarket in Bariga and go to place for all and sundry when you want to experience a good supermarket shopping experience.

The reason why I chose to shop at justrite it’s because it’s my favourite supermarket. There are a lot of things I love about the supermarket. First, it’s the fact that it’s very big and they have varieties of goods and services you can shop from. There are wide range of brands of the same product and this makes it easier to chose the brand that suits you pocket.

The second reason I chose them is that they are very organized. The environment is very clean and the goods are so arranged in an orderly manner that actually gives the buyer a sense of belonging and relaxation. The aisles are neatly set and you would just love to shop there.

The third reason I love them is that they are not too pricey. Their goods are readily cheap and affordable compare to other supermarkets around that I have shopped from in the past.

These are the location coordinates for Justrite superstores Bariga.

Join me as we explore justrite supermarket because it just as the name is, it’s just the right place for shopping.

So from the outside picture which I already shared, you will see that it’s a big supermarket.
Walking towards the entrance, there is an entrance door and there is an exit door. So you would have to use each other appropriately. From the picture you can see some people about to enter.

IMG_4672.jpegExit

Beside the entrance door is a safe. It’s a huge safe with different locks and numbers on them where you can keep any extra items you came with. They do not allow people to go into the supermarket with items from outside except your purse or hand bag. This is to minimize shop lifting as we all know that some people do that.

IMG_4621.jpeglockers

So I placed my umbrella inside the locker and I was given a key with a number and padlock to secure my own temporary locker. I locked up the locker and went inside the super market.

On entrance to the left side on the floor are stacks of shopping baskets to pick for your shopping and there are trolleys too. I took a basket from the stack to aid my shopping.

IMG_4622.jpegshopping baskets

On this left hand side are packs of neatly stacked drinks. There are drinks of different varieties for the people to choose from. And there are also water packs from different brands stacked too. Having various choices to choose from makes it exciting.

IMG_4625.jpegaisle 8

After the water packs, you will see the 8th aisle by the right hand side. This isle is made up of line up of refrigerators and freezer. There are a lot of them housing different kinds of drinks and water. Ranging from soft drinks to youghurts. The refrigerators and freezers are much. They stretched from beginning to the other end.

IMG_4624.jpegstacks of packed drinks

The freezers on the other hand is housing the frozen food items like hot dogs, chicken, gizzards, turkey etc. There are other freezers that contains ice creams of different flavour and brands. As a lover of ice cream, this is my go to shop for ice cream shopping.

IMG_4628.jpegfrozen foods
IMG_4650.jpegwines

On this same aisle you see all manner of alcoholic drinks and wines of different brands it’s so satisfying to look at. So this first aisle is basically for anything drinkable.

IMG_4629.jpegAisle 7
IMG_4630.jpegAisle 6

After this aisle comes the aisle 7 and aisle 6. Aisle 7 contains all manner of baby things. Different pampers, baby toiletries and soaps, creams and everything for babies. Aisle 6 contains chocolates, cookies, packet snacks and all manner of fancy biscuits both local and foreign. That’s the section for those with sweet tooth.

IMG_4631.jpegaisle 4

Then we move to aisle 5 and 4. Aisle 5 is adjacent to all the aisles. It houses personal items like pads, tissues, soaps, tooth paste and other personal things for personal hygiene. While aisle 4 is the go to for provisions. There you will see all manner of cereals, milk, beverages, custard and the rest of them. There are a wide varieties of these products.

IMG_4635.jpegAisle 3
IMG_4637.jpegAisle 2
IMG_4638.jpegAisle 1

Then comes aisle 3, 2 and 1. Aisle 3 houses food items such as sachet tomatoes, tin tomatoes, groundnut oil, red oil and all manner of cooking spices. Aisle 2 is the home for creams, soaps, facial cleansers , hair creams and all manner of products used on the body while aisle 1 is for home cleaning items like hypo, detergents and etc.

IMG_4641.jpegThe mini bakery

At the end of aisle 1 is a mini bakery. So they have a bakery in the supermarket that produces bread and some other types of snacks there. You could perceive the bread smell all over the supermarket. The bread is soft and delicious. I tried buying it but they didn’t have sliced ones, so I had to pass.

IMG_4662.jpegstairs leading upstairs

They also have a stair case leading to the upper part of the supermarket. It’s a storey building. The stairs are clean. The upstairs houses a pharmacy, electronic sections that sells fans, gas coolers, blenders, refrigerators and deep freezers, household items and etc. There’s also a section for shoes and clothes.

IMG_4657.jpegfans
IMG_4660.jpeggas cookers and electronics
IMG_4664.jpegshoe section

This up section has its own pay point as well as the pharmacy. So whatever you buy up, you pay up there and whatever you buy downstairs, you pay at the cashier downstairs.

I had to stop over at the pharmacy to see if they had a particular ulcer drug that I wanted to buy.

So I stopped over at the pharmacy to buy an ulcer drug that my mum advised me to buy. I had been diagnosed with ulcer and currently undergoing medication and believe me it’s not a funny experience. I asked the pharmacist if they had it and they said yes, so I bought two packets of Relcer mixmag. This is the Relcer mixmag with the price receipt.

I wanted to buy bread but they didn’t have sliced ones so I had to leave it but I got some beverages. It’s vital three in one beverage. I haven’t tasted it before. It’s a new product. I had actually used just the chocolate but haven’t used this three in one brand. So I decided to give it a try.

Your shopping experience.

From the feedback I have given so far, you can see that my shopping experience was awesome. There was ease in navigating the different aisle and also being able to get what you want. Because the items are well arranged and labeled.

I didn’t have any difficulties with my shopping. The pharmacists that attended to me were friendly. We were even gisting about ulcer and diabetes and the things to avoid. They answered the questions I asked them about the drug usage very well and also made good recommendations.

The staff at the entrance and exit doors were friendly with their duties and they opens the doors for customers on entrance and also check the receipts and what you bought while existing. They weren’t rude at all.

IMG_4668.jpegaccount card

At the cashier point. It was easy to make my payment as I simply transferred my money to the company account number and receipts were issued to me. Where the account number was written was becoming faint but I was still able to decipher what was written on the card.
I had a good time shopping at justrite supermarket. It felt just right. Hahahah.

What do you think the supermarket or mini market needs to do to expand and tell us if the business is lagging in patronage.
IMG_4666.jpegan over view

This supermarket from my experience is not lagging behind at all. Infact I prefer to shop during the afternoon times because they have less queue and less rush. During the evening and night times, the type of queue that used to be there is much.

You would stand for a long time before it gets to your turn to pay. They have three cashier points downstairs but yet there’s always long queues at all the points during evening and night times.

They have branches in some other places but I think they would have to put money into their advertisement. They have good products and different varieties, if they advertise their business enough, I am sure they would have people coming from all corners to patronise them.

So far they are doing good as you can see. It’s a very big and well organized supermarket and they have good patronage and record.

Do you think a supermarket or a mini market should be more popular than a local business YES or NO? And support your options with what you have experienced before now.
IMG_4675.jpegWhat I bought and receipts

No. I don’t think a super market should be more popular than a local business. Yes supermarkets may be all fancy here and there but local businesses have some perks that isn’t available in supermarkets.

For example, supermarkets already have price tags attached to their goods. There is no place for bargaining. It’s either you buy or leave it but local shops gives you room to bargain and get extra change. Couple of times, I have bought goods cheaper in the local business shops than in the supermarket.

There is no personal relationship between the buyers and the sellers in a supermarket. Most of the staff are just there to monitor buyers to avoid shop lifting than give buying advices.

The local store seller can give you advise to go for another brand that’s cheaper based on your budget. There are some good new brands but they are not popular but they are just the same thing with the popular and expensive brands.

The local stores are even kind enough to let you buy on credit depending on your relationship with the seller but you can’t try it in a supermarket.

One day I went to buy food items from a local shop and I was having issues making transfers because of network. The owner let me go with the items and later I transferred her money to her the next day.

But this can never happen in a supermarket. They will ask you to drop the items. They even owe you small balances here and there or make you buy extra things to make up for balance when they don’t have small change to give to you. This has happened to me a couple of times but the local store can owe you and then you can use the change on a later date.

Supermarket are all flex and cool but local stores are more personal and flexible so they deserve to be recognized too as much as supermarkets are.

Review:
"Justrite superstores” is a great place for people to shop from and being a beautiful place gives the supermarket an edge over others. Supermarket is truly for fancy and it is the most reason things in supermarket are more expensive than local market. The good thing about supermarket is the varieties of goods of good quality.
