Speem SEC-S32W5: (Mindset and self development blog; Comparing ourselves with others.)
Greetings friends and welcome to my mindset and self development blog.
Today for this challenge we are dealing with a topic that sometimes we all find ourselves struggle with and that’s ‘’comparing ourselves to others?’’
In a world where social media is the order of the day, it’s very easy to see ourselves comparing ourselves to others.
We see on social media where people are traveling abroad, getting married, buying cars, changing wardrobes and looking all expensive and we are sometime tempted to start feeling bad and thinking we’ve been left behind in life.
In this video, I have explained how comparing ourselves to others is actually not being fair to ourselves and some of the negative effects it can have on us.
When you compare yourself to others, you could end up loosing your joy and not being appreciative of how far you have come and the success you have achieved. You are more focused on what the other person has that you may end up becoming discouraged and stressed.
Another point made here is that comparing yourself to others is dangerous because our journeys are different. We all have different stories, different opportunities, backgrounds and etc and the perosn you are comparing yourself to may have had helps and opportunities you never had, or even struggles that you are not aware of.
Comparing your chapter 1 to someone’s chapter 10 is being unfair to yourself. So instead of comparing yourself to others, compare yourself to who you were yesterday.
Ask yourself questions like:
- How are my improving myself to be better than yesterday?
- How far have I gone with my goals this year? Etc
Growth is not about becoming better than someone else, it’s all about becoming better versions of ourselves. Watch the video to learn more!

Hi, @alexanderpeace
It's great to see that you've accepted my challenge; I'm glad you took the time to participate.
Your performance on camera is more theatrical, and the background music was great. The only thing I noticed was the sticker you used—since it was moving, it was stealing the spotlight within the frame, and the ending felt a little abrupt. Try working with the editing effects. Great job.
Noted. Thanks for the review.
