SLC31-W1 | THE GREEN JOURNEY | The Art of Observation.
I made a break from endless scrolling this afternoon, and spent some much-needed quality time in my backyard garden (a proper digital detox!). I unplugged from everything – no music or notification beeps; just me and the natural world for 20+ minutes. It was pure bliss!
I found a shady little nook by my lemon tree and banana plant, near the compound wall. It was the perfect spot; the sun was just right (gentle, soft), the sky was a beautiful pale white and blue (with slowly forming clouds!), I took a seat on the low brick boundary and just tried my best to be very still and observe.
I was mesmerized by the veins on leaves – these tiny networks sprawling over them like micro-rivers feeding the plants.
While I do think that some leaves were a vibrant green and almost silky to touch others had slightly yellowish tips (perhaps due to insufficient food or possibly too much sun?), but I was able to see lines of very small ants lugging bits of food at least twice their own size up the stem.
The gentle rustling of the banana leaves had such a nice, peaceful sound to it. I saw the water that had come down in the morning shower clinging to the blades of grass in a really nice way where each one of the water drops glittered as the sun beam hit it. In fact I thought that even the slow, long and exaggerated shape that the shadow made on the ground as the clouds drift over had its own beauty about it.

My sometimes frantic brain finally grew quiet. The calm and tranquility brought on by noticing all the little unnoticed details of my yard and my surroundings were overwhelming.
Thanks for reading my post I'm inviting @rad-austine, @okere-blessing and @mohammad1076 to participate.
