SLC31-W1 | THE GREEN JOURNEY | The Art of Observation.

Visit a nearby park, garden, or green space 🌳

During this week's green journey, I visited Hazari Bill, the greenest area in our region. This greenfield is immensely loved by the people of our area. Surrounded by residential settlements and industrial encroachment in all neighboring areas, this is the only remaining place where one can see pure greenery.

Everyone knows it as Great Hazari Bill. Located on the west side of the Lalbag area, adjacent to the ship recycling yard, this field is situated in South Sitalpur village. There are no time restrictions for visiting, and no ticket is required to enjoy the environment; anyone can visit at any time.

Spend at least 15 minutes quietly

Countless memories of mine are tied to this Hazari Bill; I grew up playing here in my childhood. I have shared many blogs about this greenfield with my audience on Steemit. It is vast in size, and one cannot easily see from its beginning to its end; the field spans several hundred acres.

Local people here take their own land or lease others' land to cultivate various vegetables during different seasons. When the monsoon season arrives, rice is seen being planted, and the entire field fills with rice plants. Besides that, various vegetables and seeds are sown here.

Observe your surroundings deeply

While visiting, I observed the surrounding area very carefully. The more I see the beauty of this bill, the more amazed I am, but in truth, its size is no longer what it was when we saw it in our childhood. Day by day, its area is shrinking. Perhaps it is because people are building homes, or the ship industry is encroaching upon it.

In the video, I captured the surroundings while standing next to a grass pea field. I was standing right in front of a grass pea field where the seeds were also visible. In the video, I tried to capture the green scenery with a zoom for the viewers. The chirping of nearby birds could be heard, and a light breeze was blowing against me; all in all, I was standing in truly green nature.

Look for seeing something different:

I observed the things around Hazari Bill. The vegetable fields of the people there caught my attention quite well. Among them, I tried to capture three things that people usually ignore.

Bean plant vines

1000063953.jpg

First, I noticed the bean plant vines hanging beside me. We all know that beans are a winter vegetable, but these bean plants bear fruit several times until the plant completely dries up. Although there were no flowers on the bean plants this summer season like in previous times, the thin vines looked quite beautiful swaying in the wind. Bean plants are planted in rows on the embankments or boundaries of the land. I captured the details of the plant vines.

The distant sun

1000063951.jpg

After that, I looked towards the distant sun. When I visited, it was almost the end of the afternoon. At this time, the daylight starts to fade, and the surrounding environment becomes much cooler. The sun was very far from me, but it was much closer through the camera lens. I noticed how the sun was slowly changing its color to red, and after some time, the sunset could be seen. I captured the details of the sky and the environment, including the sun.

Goat eating leaves

1000063960.jpg

Then, after walking a few steps, I saw a goat eating leaves and grazing in the field. The goat was black in color with slight white stripes on its back. The funny thing is, do you know? When I went near the goat, it was not the least bit disturbed, and even after seeing me, it continued its work of looking for leaves. There was a rope tied around its neck, meaning it could not go anywhere else outside this area. I watched the goat's movements for quite a while and tried to capture its details.

Observation Ending

I felt wonderful visiting this green nature. We are all indebted to nature because it has sustained the existence of mankind. However, it feels bad that the field where we used to play at one time is now half-occupied by either settlements or industry.

I visit this Hazari Bill quite often. Coming here brings a unique sense of peace. There have been days when, during summer, if there was load shedding at home, I would bring a mat with my friends and sit on the green grass to enjoy the cool weather. Anyway, I hope this field retains its beauty in this way.

The photos you’ve shared are very interesting, but you should share unique ones. This shot of the sun with clouds is a unique one. As for the plant with the leaves, you should definitely take a closer shot so the leaf veins are more visible. That would certainly be more interesting. Even for selfies—which are one of the judging criteria—you haven’t shared any.
