Steemit Challenge Season 33 Application - Voices of the Forgotten: Bringing Hidden Human Stories Back to Life

Dear Steemit Team,

I hope everyone in the Steemit family is well.

Today I am applying for the Steemit Challenge Season 33 with an exceptional, humane and real-life experience-based idea. The name of my proposed challenge is "voices of the forgotten", that is, the voices of people who are disappearing.

Every day we see countless pictures, travelogues, recipes, artwork and creative content. These are undoubtedly important and enjoyable. But there are many people around us whose life struggles, talents, skills and contributions are slowly disappearing from people's memory.

Some may have been repairing old radios for decades, some are making amazing handicrafts with bamboo, some are still hand-stitching Nakshi Kantha, and some have kept the traditional songs of rural Bengal alive. However, very few people know their stories.

I believe that Steemit is not just a blogging platform; it is a place where people's stories, cultures, and real experiences can be shared with people around the world. So, through this challenge, I want Steemit users to find those unknown people around them and share their stories with the entire Steemit community.

Why is this challenge unique?

Currently, many types of posts can only be created with the help of online information. But to participate in this challenge, users need to go to real people, talk to them, learn about their experiences, and tell that story in their own words.

In this challenge—

• Real experiences will be the most important thing
• Human stories and real-life struggles will be given importance
• Local culture and heritage will be preserved
• Original content creation will be encouraged
• Real experience-based writing will be encouraged instead of AI-based generic writing
• Unknown talents and life stories of people from different countries will be brought to the world

My 6-week plan

Week 1: A local profession that is on the verge of extinction

Participants will tell the story of an old profession in their area that is slowly disappearing.

Examples:

• Cobbler
• Typewriter repairer
• Bookbinder
• Old radio mechanic
• Umbrella repairer

Week 2: Unknown yet extraordinary elderly people

Participants will tell the life story of an elderly person whose experiences, struggles and achievements are inspiring but unknown to the people.

Examples:

• A freedom fighter or war witness

• A retired teacher

• A rural doctor

• A senior citizen engaged in social service

• A craftsman with a long career

• An elderly person whose life story is instructive for the new generation

Week 3: Handmade arts and traditional skills

This week, participants will write about people who are still involved in handmade arts or traditional work.

Examples:

• Nakshi Kantha

• Clay work

• Bamboo work

• Wooden handicrafts

• Rattan work

Week 4: Hidden talents around us

The stories of people who have extraordinary talents but have not yet been recognised will be highlighted.

Examples:

• Rural musicians

• Self-taught painters

• Extraordinarily recognised Keepers of folk culture

Week 5: Local cultures that are disappearing

Participants will highlight any culture, game, song, festival, food or tradition from their area that is slowly disappearing.

Examples:

• Traditional games like Hadudu, Gollachoot or Danguli

• Folk songs or Palagan

• Rural fairs

• Traditional food

• Folk festivals

• Old wedding customs or social customs

• Endangered regional cultures and traditions

Week 6: People behind the struggle

In the last week, you will have to share the story of a person who did not give up even in difficult times in life and continued his struggle.

Why do I want to run this challenge?

Because I believe the world is slowly forgetting the stories of real people.

We see countless pictures every day, but very few know the stories of people who have enriched society through their skills, hard work, or struggle.

I want Steemit to become a platform where the voices of people who are getting lost can be heard again.

Maybe through this challenge, an old craftsman will feel for the first time that his work is still valuable to people.

Maybe the story of an unknown artist will become a new inspiration.

And if we can preserve even one person's story for future generations, that will be the greatest success of this challenge.
