Hi guys, accept greetings from the motherland of Cameroon and welcome back to my blog, where I share my daily lifestyle experiences with you all.

Summer holidays have a way of making every day feel like a marathon, and today was one of those days that tested both my energy and my patience. As a mother, preparing children for a journey is never as simple as packing a few bags. It involves planning, running errands, double-checking every little detail, and making sure everyone is happy and comfortable before they leave.

My alarm went off very early this morning because I had a long list of errands to complete in town. The kids were still fast asleep, so I quietly got ready and left them in Grandma's care before heading straight to Commercial Street.

Early morning at the commercial street.

My first stop was at the bank and I had mentally prepared myself for the usual long queues that often greet customers, but to my pleasant surprise, the banking hall was almost empty. It felt like one of those rare miracles. Within a short time, I completed all my transactions, withdrew the cash I needed, and walked out with a huge smile on my face. Sometimes the smallest victories make the biggest difference.

With cash in hand, I made my way into the busy market. Although it was the summer holiday season and many people were shopping, I managed to move quickly from one stall to another. I bought snacks for the journey, bottled water, a few groceries for home, and some little items the kids would need while travelling. I carefully checked everything against my mental checklist because I didn't want to remember something important after they had already left.

Once the shopping was done, I headed straight to the bus station with all the luggage. Carrying bags under the warm afternoon sun wasn't exactly fun, but I was determined to finish everything before heading back home. I paid for the travel tickets and confirmed all the travel arrangements. This time, the children would be travelling back home with Grandma while I remained behind for a few more days to round off some work commitments. It wasn't easy knowing I would be away from them for a little while longer, but responsibilities sometimes require difficult decisions.

After returning from the bus station, there was hardly any time to rest. The children were beginning to feel hungry, so I went straight into the kitchen and prepared lunch. Watching them eat happily reminded me why every sacrifice is worth it. Once they had finished eating, I bathed them, dressed them in comfortable clothes for the journey, and made sure all their belongings were properly packed.

Since the bus was scheduled to leave at night, I encouraged them to take a good afternoon nap. At first, they wanted to continue playing, but after a little convincing, they eventually drifted off to sleep. I quietly used those few peaceful hours to tidy the house, organise the remaining items, and mentally prepare myself for the evening journey to the bus station.

Before long, it was time to wake everyone up. We got dressed, loaded the luggage, and made our way back to the bus station. After checking them in and making sure Grandma had everything she needed, I hugged the children tightly and wished them a safe journey. Watching the bus slowly pull away always leaves a little emptiness in my heart, but I was grateful they were travelling safely.

Returning back home.

I returned home completely exhausted, yet my day wasn't over. My laptop was waiting for me because I still had some online work to complete before calling it a night. Unfortunately, the internet connection had other plans. Every page took forever to load, files refused to upload, and my patience slowly disappeared. After struggling for what felt like ages, I finally admitted defeat, closed my laptop, and decided that tomorrow would be another opportunity to finish what I had started.

Today reminded me that motherhood is a full-time job filled with endless responsibilities, careful planning, and unconditional love. Even on the busiest days, seeing my children happy and well cared for makes every effort worthwhile.

Until my next diary session, guys, enjoy the rest of your day, stay safe, and remember to cherish every moment with the people you love.
