Hi guys, accept greetings from the motherland of Cameroon and welcome back to my blog, where I share my daily lifestyle experiences with you all.

It was one of those simple days that turned into a memorable experience filled with delicious food, hard work, and a fascinating discovery from nature.

The day started on a very pleasant note. For breakfast, my sister treated me to a mouth-watering meal of roasted fish served with perfectly fried ripe plantains. The aroma of the freshly roasted fish filled the compound, and paired with the sweet, golden-brown plantains, it made for an irresistible breakfast. I truly enjoyed every bite, and it gave me enough energy for the activities that awaited us throughout the day.

After breakfast, I spent some time outside enjoying the fresh air. While observing the surroundings, I noticed something that completely amazed me. For the first time in my life, I witnessed birds cutting pieces of plantain leaves to build their nests. I had always seen birds gathering twigs and dry grass, but never had I seen them carefully cutting fresh plantain leaves. I stood there for several minutes watching them work with incredible precision and determination. It reminded me that nature still has countless lessons to teach us if we simply slow down and observe. It was truly one of the highlights of my day.

Later in the morning, my sister gave me some freshly harvested groundnuts. At first glance, they looked quite dirty because they had just been removed from the soil. However, after washing them thoroughly, they looked fresh and appetising. I was delighted to receive them because there is something special about eating fresh produce straight from the farm. It was another reminder of the blessings that come from the land.

The rest of the afternoon was dedicated to helping my sister with her business. She and her family roast cow skin, a delicacy that many people enjoy. I gladly joined in by assisting with cutting the cow skin into suitable pieces. Before roasting, we first boiled it thoroughly and then washed it carefully to ensure it was clean and ready for the next stage of processing. Although the work required patience and effort, I was happy to lend a helping hand. It also gave me a deeper appreciation for the amount of hard work that goes into preparing food products before they finally reach customers.

As evening approached, we moved into the kitchen to prepare dinner together. We cooked one of our favourite local dishes, fufu corn served with huckleberry. Cooking alongside my sister was enjoyable because we chatted, laughed, and shared stories while preparing the meal. There is always something comforting about cooking with family, especially when preparing traditional dishes that bring back beautiful memories. When dinner was finally ready, we sat together and enjoyed every bite. The huckleberry was perfectly seasoned, making the meal both satisfying and comforting.

Looking back on the day, I realised that it wasn't filled with grand events, yet it was rich in meaningful moments. From enjoying a delicious breakfast, discovering something extraordinary about birds, receiving fresh groundnuts from the farm, assisting with my sister's business, and ending the day with a homemade traditional dinner, every moment made the visit worthwhile.

It was indeed a good experience spending time at my kid sister's place. Days like these remind me that happiness is often found in simple family moments, learning something new, and being willing to help one another.

Thank you all for taking the time to read about my day. Until my next diary session, I wish each and every one of you a pleasant, peaceful, and joyful weekend.
