The Diary Game [29/04/2026] // A Day in Motion from Chaos to Calm
Hi guys, accept steem greetings from the motherland of Cameroon, and welcome to my blog, where I’m gonna share my lifestyle content with you all.
Today, my alarm went off at 5:45 a.m., far earlier than I would have liked, but there was no room for negotiation because school mornings wait for no one. I lay still for a moment, gathering the will to leave the warmth of my bed, then sprang into action as the reality of the day settled in. The kids needed to be ready before the school bus arrived at exactly 7:00 a.m., and that time always seemed closer than it actually was.
The house was quiet as I made my way to the kitchen, starting with breakfast preparations. Within minutes, I was calling out names, urging sleepy heads to wake up. Predictably, there were groans, blanket-hugging resistance, and the usual “just 10 more minutes” please to sleep. I had to switch from gentle encouragement to firm insistence because time waits for nobody.
By 6:50 a.m., the pressure peaked, shoes were finally on, bags were zipped, and we stepped outside to wait for the school bus. The cool morning air was refreshing, but my eyes stayed fixed on the road. Right on time, the bus appeared and the kids climbed aboard with a mix of excitement and lingering sleepiness, waving goodbye as it pulled away.

But there was no time to relax, I quickly returned home and cleaned up the breakfast mess, took a fast shower, and got dressed for work. There’s something about those rushed morning routines that forces efficiency. Every movement has a purpose and before I knew it, I was out the door, mentally preparing for the workday ahead.
Work was its usual mix of responsibilities and unexpected demands. The hours seemed long, but I pushed through, fueled by the thought of getting back home. By the time I returned in the evening, exhaustion had already begun to settle in, but there was still more to do.
Dinner was not going to make itself, so I decided to cook eru and garri, a comforting, hearty meal that always feels worth the effort. I carefully prepared the vegetables, stirred the pot with practised rhythm, and let the rich aroma fill the kitchen.
Cooking, despite the tiredness, brought a sense of calm. It was one part of the day where I could slow down just a little. After dinner, I finally allowed myself to relax.

The Champions League semi-final between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid was on, and I was not about to miss it. Sitting down to watch the game felt like a reward after such a full day. For a moment, the fatigue faded into the background.

But as the final whistle blew, reality returned. My body reminded me just how long the day had been. I tidied up a bit, made sure everything was in place for the next morning, and then headed to bed.
Lying down, I felt the deep, satisfying exhaustion that comes from a day fully lived. From the early morning rush to the evening wind-down, it had been nonstop but somehow, everything got done. With that thought, I closed my eyes, ready to rest and do it all over again tomorrow. Until my next diary, it is goodnight from my end.
