The Diary Game [31/07/2026] //A Stressful 14-Hour Night Journey from the North West to the South West.

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Today, I want to share my travel diary after spending almost a month in the North West Region. It was finally time to reunite with my family in the South West Region, and although the journey was exhausting, the excitement of seeing my husband and children again kept me going.

My day began very early in the morning. Before preparing for the trip, I headed to the local food market to purchase some foodstuffs at affordable prices. Since food items are relatively cheaper there, I took advantage of the opportunity to buy enough supplies to take back home. After making my purchases, I carefully packed everything into a large travel bag and proceeded to the bus station to reserve my seat for the evening departure.

Once my reservation was confirmed, I returned home to freshen up. I took a relaxing bath, enjoyed a good meal, and made sure I had everything ready before leaving again for the bus station. By exactly 4:00 PM, I was back at the terminal, an hour before our scheduled departure at 5:00 PM.

While waiting, I ensured all my luggage was safely loaded into the bus before the officials began checking in passengers. Once the process was completed, I settled into my seat and patiently waited for the remaining passengers to board. About ten minutes after 5:00 PM, the bus finally pulled out of the station, marking the beginning of our long overnight journey.

Not long after we started, I became quite sleepy. The gentle movement of the bus made it difficult to stay awake, and I drifted in and out of sleep as we travelled through the night. Several hours later, we arrived at a major stopover where many buses usually rest. Passengers had about ten minutes to stretch, use the restrooms, buy food or drinks, and simply relax before continuing the trip. After sitting for hours, stretching my legs felt incredibly refreshing.

Our journey continued through the Littoral Region, where several passengers disembarked. From there, we headed toward the South West Region, making another stop to drop off more passengers before finally continuing toward my hometown. Although the journey lasted approximately 14 hours, I became increasingly excited as we drew closer to home. I had been away from my husband and children for almost a month, and I could hardly wait to see them again.

We eventually arrived a few minutes after 7:00 AM. Unfortunately, ongoing road maintenance in my neighbourhood made it impossible for my husband to drive to the bus station to pick me up. I therefore hired a taxi, which dropped me off at the point where vehicles could no longer pass. My husband was already waiting there with a wheelbarrow, which he used to transport my heavy bags the rest of the way home. Seeing him waiting for me instantly erased much of the exhaustion I had accumulated during the journey.

Although spending 14 hours on the road at night was both tiring and stressful, arriving home safely and reuniting with my family made every moment worthwhile. There is truly no place like home, and the joy of embracing my loved ones after weeks apart is a feeling I cannot fully describe.
