Hi, Steemians! Today, I want to share a personal story about my journey toward achieving one of my biggest goals: continuing my education. For many people around the world, education is a dream that requires determination, patience, and sacrifice. I have always believed that learning is one of the greatest investments a person can make, and I have been searching for an opportunity to continue my studies despite the challenges that came my way. I stopped going to school due to some reasons base known to me because of some challenges and difficulties I had. During my search for an affordable and accessible university, because I’m in terms of researching and investigating. I discovered the University of the People (UoPeople). What attracted me was the opportunity to study online and work toward a degree while overcoming some of the financial barriers that make higher education difficult for many people. And due to my health, since i cannot afford to go out stressing my self so I decided to apply and begin this new chapter of my life. Completing the application process was exciting because I knew this could be a major step toward my future.

One reason I chose the University of the People is because it offers flexible online learning. The best is that I don’t have to start thinking of how I will cope with the cost of living in terms of feeding, paying for hand out and paying for transportations everyday in this hard economy. I don't have to be on campus to study. I can learn from the comfort of my home, complete my coursework online, and study at my own pace and the most beautiful and interesting part is that I can interact with other students all over the world. This makes education more convenient and gives many people the chance to earn a degree regardless of where they live. However, just when I thought everything was moving smoothly, I faced an unexpected challenge. But this is not scare you but just to share my own personal experience because experience is the best teacher, that you can know how to go about it. Another thing I love about the school is their online platform, their website is very simple and convenient to access, they make it very easy trust me when I say is user friendly. But something happened when I didn’t even expected.

After completing the required steps and reaching the agreement signing stage, I entered my name and initials as requested. But instead of moving forward, my portal showed an error message, and I was stuck. I couldn’t proceed to the next page, at first I did not panic, I had to contact email my admission supervisor that I couldn’t access my portal in order to proceed to the next page to secure my spot for the next semester. After contacting the UoPeople Admissions Team and explaining the issue, I patiently waited for their response. A few days later, I received an email confirming that my spot had been secured for the upcoming term and that no further action was required from me.

I was also informed that my studies will officially begin on September 3, 2026. I was so happy and there’s another special thing I notice about this UoPeople, they’re fast and reliable when it comes to student supports and they respond so quick whenever you contact them. This experience of portal issues and inability to proceed in securing my spot taught me that patience and persistence can help us overcome unexpected challenges. This experience really taught me a lot and one of the things this taught me is: Do not give up when unexpected problem happen, always try again and again, be patient during uncertain situations, always keep believing in your goals and dreams. As I prepare to begin this new journey, I am grateful and excited for what lies ahead. I know it won't be easy, but I am ready to give it my best. Thank you for reading my story, and I look forward to sharing more of my academic journey with this wonderful community. Yours truly @lordvalour.
