The Diary Game: ||26/4/2026||Today I learned about the consequences of living an ungodly lifestyle and the benefits of godliness.

Today was Thanksgiving service and also doubled as family service in church. This morning at 7:05 I arrived at church as early as I could. When I arrived, the choir was singing praises already; the call to worship was taken from the book of Psalm 112:1-10, hymns were sung, an announcement was made, and the offering was collected. Today a man gave a testimony on how God has kept his marriage for thirty years, despite the fact that a false prophet told him he would die after three days of marrying that particular woman he intended to marry, but instead God has kept them together for thirty years and has blessed them with all-round fruitfulness in the marriage.

Mr. Emmanuel Bomabebe, the assistant resident pastor, was the minister of the word today. The text was taken from Romans 3:4, and the topic was titled Understanding the Pathways to Sanctification, Part 3.

I learned that for one to live a sanctified life, he/she must have the grace of God in them. 1 Thessalonians 2:10. As children of God, we are to live a life of "sin no more" (1 John 3:8) and live a life that is well-pleasing to God. Today's pathway to sanctification includes keeping godly companies. I learned that the people we follow will either bring us up or take us down, and if we want to abide in the presence of God for life, we need to have godly friends and follow godly people. This simply means any man that wants to see the glory of God must disconnect himself from ungodly people. The next pathway is to engage in the power of testimony. Psalm 119:11, Revelation 12:11. Because testimonies make us overcomers, and we should not allow our flesh to control our spirit man, but we should let our spirit control our flesh instead.

It brings fear and agony (Gen. 3:9-10). I learned that sin is a sinker of destiny, and if we don't want to sink in life, we should avoid sin. Proverbs. 28:1. Ungodliness also blocks access to God's presence (Psalm 101:7, 15:1). Thus, those who are not living a godly life cannot experience God's presence; finally, it blocks access to God's favor (Genesis 39:5). If we fear God, we will experience God's favor.

Godliness brings long life and prosperity (Psalm 91:16). This means when we live a godly life, we will live long on earth. And finally, I learned that our future depends on what we do today, and the decision we make today determines our future. We are all free to do and live whatever life we want, but we must be ready to face the consequences of our actions later in life.

After the sermon had been preached, we all prayed for families in the church since today was family service. The resident pastor proceeded to pray for those who were born this month and those who got married or had any other thing to celebrate this month. After the prayers we thanked the Lord for making today's service successful, and we shared the grace.
