The Dairy Game: Attending my Sister's Convocation Ceremony[2/05/2026]

Hello everyone, welcome to another amazing episode of my dairy session with me @preciouswil. I said amazing right?...Yeah, because today was absolutely amazing. It's been a while I came around here and I have truly missed being here. I hope you are doing good?...It feels great to be back here.....and...I'm not going anywhere again....Trust me on that...I'm back here for good fully!😊

Today, I woke up very early..... Yes and that's because it was my sister's convocation today. My husband and I made sure to do the weekend house cleaning as fast as we could. I then went on to bath the kids and made sure they had breakfast. After that my husband took them to his Sister's; they were not going with us as the school was quite far.

We had agreed to make sure we leave the house today as early as 9am since we weren't driving. We are using public transportation and since it was weekend, the rush won't be easy for us if we didn't leave the house on time. At the end we ended up leaving the house at a few minutes past 10am. We hit the road and went on our journey.

Ready and heading out

Upon arrival at the park, we found out that there were no vehicles going to our route; just a few were on ground and they were already occupied by people who were traveling. My husband looked at me and said, "See what we were trying to avoid all the while?".

At this point, we were already feeling down because we knew this meant that we would arrive late, if not very late for the event. We decided to be patient and wait for the next available vehicle. The vehicles that were already filled with passengers soon left and we kept waiting for another vehicle to come.

After a few minutes, one of the drivers decided to have a change of heart and ply our route instead. He however increased the Fare amount. We had no choice but to board the vehicle and other persons did same. We later found out we were headed to the same event, The Convocation 🎓.

We started the journey and the driver was driving just too slow for my liking. I was already feeling angry with him because why would he be driving this slow when we had an event that we were already behind time for to attend. I just had to put my self together and continue the journey.

On the way, almost all the passengers fell asleep; myself inclusive. I however quickly woke up as I do not like sleeping while traveling. I love to be awake and vigilant till I arrive my destination. Given the current security situation in Nigeria as well, one can't be too safety conscious.

At this point, I glanced at my husband who was occupying the front seat only to find he was dozing already. I tried my best to stay awake throughout the journey.

After almost about an hour and half, we finally arrived at Abraka where the school is situated. The crowd we met there was so great. Students and parents alike were trooping down the University's small gate and heading towards the Convocation Arena where the ceremony was taking place.

We had to walk down almost 30 mins before we arrived at the gate. There, we met another huge crowd of people all struggling to get to the Convocation ground as well. We were able to get a tricycle who was headed to that direction and in no time we where there.

I called my sister and she came out to receive us. The whole environment was a sea of heads. It was difficult to locate us but we finally saw each other. We then followed her to the arena and had our seats. The ceremony continued. Soon the graduands were each called out to have a handshake with the Vice Chancellor. My Sister was called and she walked up to perform hers.

Once done, we left the arena and went outside under the tree shade. We brought out the food and drinks we came with and gave everyone around. We then proceeded to take pictures with the celebrant. It was such an amazing moment.

At 3pm, we started out to return home. The journey back was quite good. We all had an amazing time and I hope your day was amazing and too. Till I see you again, don't stop being amazing 🤩.
