The Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) continues to operate with remarkable stability, having now processed over 187,000 blocks. Today, I am addressing a minor governance hiccup and issuing a call for validators to vote on Proposal #5 to ensure our network parameters remain optimized.

Governance Update: Proposal #5

As some of you may have noticed, Proposal #3 did not execute as expected due to a lack of sufficient validator votes during the tally period. Since this is a testnet environment, this serves as a valuable lesson in the importance of active participation in governance.

To rectify this, I have submitted Proposal #5, which carries the same title and objectives as the previous one. It is crucial that we pass this to maintain the intended network configuration.

Voting Deadline:
The voting period for Proposal #5 ends on 2026-08-01 at 03:26:39 UTC (09:11:39 Nepal Time).

How to Vote

You can vote using either the SVM App UI or the Command Line Interface (CLI).

Option 1: SVM App (MetaMask)
Visit the governance module in the app and cast your vote directly from your wallet:

Option 2: CLI (For Validators)
If you prefer using the terminal, please use the following command inside your node container. Remember to replace blazed007 with your actual keyring name.

docker exec -it steemvm-node /root/go/bin/steemvmd tx gov vote 5 yes \
  --from <your_key_name> --gas auto --gas-adjustment 1.5 --gas-prices 1000000000asteem -y

To find your keyring name, run:

docker exec -it steemvm-node /root/go/bin/steemvmd keys list

Network Health & Statistics

Despite the minor governance delay, the blockchain itself remains incredibly healthy and efficient.

Total Blocks Produced: 187,000+
Total Transactions: 905
Average Daily Transactions: ~53
Average Gas Price: 0.9 gwei
Active Validators: 11

The low gas price of 0.9 gwei demonstrates the high efficiency of the SVM, making it an ideal environment for testing complex DeFi interactions without worrying about high costs.

📢 Final Call for Validators: August 1st Deadline

This is a final reminder that the deadline to join the validator set and qualify for the 5,000,000 SHERPA genesis reward is August 1, 2026.

Validator creation is permissionless. If you have been considering joining, now is the time to set up your node and start securing the network.
