STEEM EVM Update: 235K Blocks, Proposal #7 Execution & Final Validator Rewards

The Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) continues to operate with exceptional stability, having now crossed 235,000 blocks. Today is a critical day for the network as we prepare for the execution of Proposal #7, which will upgrade our binary and finalize the bridge gateway configuration.

Proposal #7: Execution Imminent
Proposal #7 ("SteemVM v0.0.2-Beta1 + gateway svm.bank") is scheduled to execute in a few hours.
Unlike my previous two attempts, which failed due to code-level data formatting errors (specifically the LegacyDec round-trip issue), this proposal has been thoroughly tested and corrected. The voting phase was successful, and the chain is now ready to perform the software upgrade at the designated block height.
What happens next?
Once the chain halts at the upgrade height, validators will need to update their nodes to the v0.0.2-Beta1 binary. This upgrade ensures that the bridge gateway is correctly set to svm.bank and implements other critical performance fixes.
Network Health & Statistics
The blockchain remains robust and healthy, with all 12 validators maintaining excellent uptime.

- Average Daily Transactions: ~27
- Average Block Time: 6.8 seconds
- Average Gas Price: 0.9 gwei
- Active Validators: 12
The low gas price of 0.9 gwei continues to make the SVM an efficient environment for testing complex DeFi interactions.
Final Call: 5M SHERPA Validator Rewards
Tomorrow, I will be publishing the final details regarding the 5,000,000 SHERPA genesis reward distribution.
This post will confirm the list of the 12 eligible validators who joined prior to the extended August 4th deadline and specify their equal share of the reward pool. If you intended to join but haven't yet, please note that the window for this specific genesis allocation has now closed.
