STEEM EVM Update: Meme Coin , 114K Blocks & UI Polishing for Custom Tokens

The Steem Virtual Machine (SVM) continues to evolve rapidly. Today, I am pleased to report that the network has crossed 114,000 blocks and that our governance infrastructure has reached a new level of usability. With the successful passing of Proposal #1, we have unlocked the ability to manage the chain entirely through the user interface.

Governance Milestone: MetaMask Integration Complete
The recent passage of Proposal #1 was a critical technical step. It activated the governance precompile at address 0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000805.
What this means for users:
- No More CLI Required: You no longer need to use complex command-line tools to participate in governance.
- UI-Based Voting: Proposal creation and voting can now be done directly through the SVM App using MetaMask.
- Tested & Verified: I have successfully created and voted on Proposal #2 entirely through the UI to verify the functionality. Validators and community members are encouraged to test this new feature.

Network Health & Statistics
The blockchain remains healthy and stable with consistent block production.
Current Network Stats:
- Total Blocks Produced: 114,000+
- Total Transactions: 555
- Registered Addresses: 71
- Average Block Time: ~6.6 seconds
- Active Validators: 9
The increase in registered addresses and transaction volume indicates growing interest from the community as more users discover the DeFi capabilities of Sherpa Protocol and the ease of the new governance UI.
📢 Call for Validators: Join Before August 1st
We are actively seeking more community members to run validator nodes to further decentralize the network.
💰 Genesis Reward: 5M SHERPA Pool
A dedicated bucket of 5,000,000 SHERPA tokens will be distributed equally among all validators who join and remain active prior to August 1, 2026.
I have personally reached out to @steemchiller and @justyy to invite them to join the validator set. I hope they, along with other key community figures, will consider joining before the deadline to share in these rewards and help secure the network.

Experimental: Meme Coin & Custom Token Support
To test the full capabilities of the SVM and SherpaSwap, I recently deployed a test meme coin called steemMEME at contract address:
0xA6Bcdc813e2a38C4F555AE35BC441d977bB78788
I have also added initial liquidity to enable trading. However, this experiment highlighted an area for improvement: the current UI is optimized for default tokens.
Next Steps for UI Development:
I am now working on polishing the SVM App interface to make it easier for users to:
- Add Liquidity for custom tokens that are not listed by default.
- Swap any ERC-20 token by simply pasting its contract address.
- Import new tokens into their wallet view seamlessly.
This enhancement will empower the community to launch their own tokens, create niche markets, and fully utilize the permissionless nature of the SVM.
