STEEM EVM Update: Proposal #7 Passed, Critical Upgrade Instructions

I am pleased to confirm that Proposal #7 has successfully passed voting. The network is currently healthy and producing blocks as expected. However, we are approaching a critical milestone: the scheduled software upgrade at block height 254,132.

🚨 CRITICAL: Validator Upgrade Instructions

When the chain reaches block height 254,132, it will halt. The chain will remain non-functional until a super-majority of validators have upgraded their binaries to v0.0.2-Beta1.

To make this process seamless, I have prepared an automated script that will handle the upgrade preparation and execution.

⚠️ Action Required: All validators must run the following commands before Midnight UTC today (2026-08-04T00:00:00Z).

Step 1: Run the Migration Script

Execute this command from inside the SteemVirtualMachine-EVM folder where you have cloned the repository:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/blazeapps007/SteemVirtualMachine-EVM/main/scripts/migrate-config.sh | bash

Step 2: Start the Auto-Upgrade Monitor

This script will prepare the binary and monitor the chain. When the target height is reached, it will automatically execute the upgrade.

chmod +x scripts/auto-upgrade.sh
nohup bash scripts/auto-upgrade.sh > upgrade.log 2>&1 &

Step 3: Monitor the Logs

You can track the progress of the script by viewing the log file. It will constantly track blocks until the upgrade height is reached.

tail -f upgrade.log

Please ensure you complete these steps before the deadline to avoid any downtime for the network.

Network Health & Statistics

The blockchain remains stable as we approach the upgrade. While transaction volume has slowed slightly as testers take a brief pause, the network integrity is perfect.

Total Transactions: 1,007
Registered Addresses: 80
Average Daily Transactions: ~4
Active Validators: 12

Final Call: 5M SHERPA Validator Rewards

As mentioned in previous posts, tomorrow I will publish the final details regarding the 5,000,000 SHERPA genesis reward distribution for the 12 eligible validators who joined prior to the August 4th deadline. This post will confirm the list of recipients and their equal shares.
