Greetings friends and welcome to my green journey for the week.

Visit a nearby natural place 🌳

This week for my green journey and earth stewardship, I visited a very big camping facility in ogun state where we held a weekend retreat and inside this camp was a green area.

It’s more of a mini park for campers to use. This green area had some cubicles are built around it which visitors can sit in clusters and have meetings or can stay individually depending on the purpose of there meeting.

This green area is a place with a wonderful environmental condition and free from any form of pollution. The natural environment and green trees presence added to its freshness and natural Feeling.

The cubicles

These cubicles are on both the left and right with the ones on the left having a mordern feel and the ones on the right has a little native feeling to it giving it a natural relaxation feel.

Adjacent to the green area was planted some trees which serves as a shade from the sun and gives the environment a natural and green refreshing feel.

Green trees and sit out areas

Under one of the trees is a sit out, a chair for people to sit under the shades. While I was there, a couple of persons sat down there resting.

On the extreme of the park is a basketball court and a lawn tennis court for exercising and then the green field was stretched out before me. It’s actually a big field and there was a goal post too for people who would want to play but I didn’t see people playing any sort of sports in the field.

The other extremes

They only came to the green shade to hangout or sit in the cubicles for their meetings or personal quiet time. Overall it’s a good place to sit and admire nature or use for leisure time.

This green place is located inside The Redeemed Christian church of God Redemption camp Arena. It’s a real and safe place open to all. This is the address: Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, Redemption Camp (Redemption City), Mowe, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Spend some time observing the place Do at least one small positive action

As I took my time observing the place in the cool evening. I and two other people were the only ones on site. I noticed that there were some trash littered on the field. These were sachets of water, beverages and empty bottles of soft drinks scattered on the field.

It felt odd to see such a cool green area with such litters, so I proceeded to move around the field and picked up the trashes that littered the place.

I took some pictures of me cleaning the field and my activities and the nature around me. The little actions of taking time to pick the trash on the friend made me feel great and good on my inside.

You can see from the before and after picture that the field looked better after I cleaned it up than when it was littered with trash.

How I felt after my actions

I have always had weird feeling when I see people litter the environment or drop things on the road and that was how I felt initially when the field was littered.

	I felt happy with my little action

But after my cleaning and picking exercise, I felt happy inside me and more relaxing as I saw that the field was looking all clean. Indeed our small actions can make a great difference.
