The Diary Game | Turning Cancer Patient Doubts into Hope and Confidence
Greetings of the day,
This is @alfazmalek from #India,
Hello friends,
I hope everyone is doing well and having a wonderful day. Today I am back again to share another diary game about my activities from yesterday. Every day in the hospital brings something new to learn, and yesterday was also one of those meaningful days that gave me knowledge, happiness, and some memorable moments with friends.
As usual, I reached the hospital in the morning and started my day with routine rounds. I visited different patient areas and interacted with patients and staff members. Morning rounds are always important because they give me an opportunity to understand the condition of patients and also help me communicate with them personally. Yesterday, before starting other activities, I decided to spend some time with cancer patients because many of them were waiting in the hospital for consultation and treatment.
Cancer is a word that often creates fear in people's minds. Many patients become worried immediately after hearing about their diagnosis. Some feel emotionally weak while others become confused because of different information they hear from people around them. I wanted to reduce that fear and help them understand things in a better way. I gathered some patients and their family members and started discussing the importance of continuing treatment and maintaining a positive attitude.
I explained to them that modern healthcare has advanced significantly and many treatment options are available today. I also explained that fear and stress can negatively affect mental health, so patients should try to stay positive and follow medical advice regularly. Along with treatment-related information, I also discussed lifestyle improvements. I talked about healthy eating habits, avoiding tobacco products, reducing unhealthy activities, maintaining physical activity according to their condition, and keeping a positive mindset.
The most interesting part of the session was that it did not become a one-sided discussion. Patients became comfortable and started asking many questions. Some asked whether cancer is always hereditary, some wanted to know if treatment would cause unbearable side effects, while others asked questions related to diet and recovery. A few family members also asked whether lifestyle changes could help improve overall health. I listened carefully to every question and answered each one according to my knowledge and understanding.
Personally, I enjoyed that session a lot because it became a two-way communication rather than simply giving information. I always believe that when people ask questions, it shows they are interested and want to understand things better. The session became very interactive and engaging. Seeing patients participate actively made me feel happy because they were becoming more confident and comfortable. Some patients even smiled and thanked me after getting answers to their doubts. Those small moments give a different kind of satisfaction because healthcare is not only about medicines and procedures; it is also about building trust and providing emotional support.
After completing the morning activities, lunchtime finally arrived. Everyone was feeling a little tired after the busy work schedule, so we decided to make lunch more enjoyable. Instead of a regular meal, we ordered dhokla along with green chutney and tea in the office. The food tasted delicious, and we all sat together while talking and enjoying the break. At the same time, we also started playing games while having lunch. The atmosphere became full of laughter and fun because everyone was trying to enjoy the moment.
Later in the evening, after completing our work responsibilities, we all gathered together and played carrom in the office. Carrom is always enjoyable because everyone becomes highly focused and competitive while playing. There were funny moments, missed shots, and lots of laughter during the game. Activities like these create positive energy in the workplace and help strengthen relationships among team members.
After completing my hospital duties, I went with my friends to Chhuchapura village and visited the dargah there. After spending the whole day inside the hospital environment, visiting such a peaceful place felt refreshing. I spent quality time with my friends and enjoyed the calm atmosphere there.
Overall, it was a beautiful day filled with learning, communication, patient support, enjoyable moments, and peaceful experiences. Days like these remind me that even small conversations can create a positive impact in someone's life.
Thank you for reading my diary.
THANK YOU
