Prove you're the best artist of the week.

Hello friends, how are you? This is my entry for the contest with the theme "Show that you are the best artist of the week." I thank my friend @iamguchidanart for inviting me to participate. It's a pleasure and I'm delighted to do so, as art is my passion, as in this case, through a drawing that always has a story, a meaning, and a great feeling. Here's how I created this drawing, which is very special to me and touches my heart because it's from a beautiful memory.

MY MATERIALS

STEPS

To begin the drawing, I use my pencil to add some shading and sketch a rough outline of my face as a guide. Then, with my finger, I gradually blend the shape while also defining the eyes, nose, and eyebrows. This isn't the final version; it's more of a rough draft to help me refine and refine the final shape.

Here I emphasized the eyes more, and focused on the lips and teeth, always blending a little, then I started drawing my little dog.

The drawing is quite advanced now, I'm focusing more on my dog, the shadows, eyes, nose, her body and blending so it looks almost finished, just lacking details.

As you can see here, I'm already adding more definition to both my face and my dog's.

This is the final result of my drawing with all the details marked and blended. This time I only used pencil, I didn't use colors. I always like to color all kinds of drawings, especially faces, but this time I liked that this photograph I wanted to recreate looks black and white, more like a memory.

SELFIE

20260522_213130.jpg

Well friends, this is the end of my drawing. I'll explain a little about how long it took me to make it and where I got my inspiration. This drawing was inspired by a photograph from a while ago, a Christmas where my beloved dog Bianca was with us. Now she's no longer with us, and looking at her photos brings back beautiful memories. So I wanted to recreate this photo of her with me wearing Christmas hats. It's very special to me. I started this drawing at 5 pm and finished it at 8 pm. I had several breaks to do other things, but I was still able to finish it, and I feel good and pleased to see it done. I like the result, but I know I can always improve and keep practicing. I hope you like it a lot. Here's the photograph that inspired me.
