SLC-S31-W2// "My Taste My Culture" [Across Borders] (Indian Paes and Luchi)
Assalamu Alaikum friends, I am starting by wishing everyone good health. I feel happy to participate in the 2nd week challenge of Steemit Season 31. This time the challenge seems completely new and different to me, so I appreciate this challenge and I got the opportunity to prove myself in a new way by participating in it.
Today I will make a popular dish from another culture, which is a staple dish of Indian culture that they always make in their various events and puja festivals, and today I am going to make a popular dish of their culture from Bangladesh. I choose this Indian dish and that is Payas and Luchi, it is always on their food list.
Ingredients used
| Ingredients | Amount |
|---|---|
| Liquid milk | 1 liter |
| Rice | 1 cup |
| Jaggery | 1 cup |
| Sugar | 1 cup |
| Salt | to taste |
| Bay leaves | 2 |
| Cashews | 8-10 |
| Raisins | 8-10. |
| Flour | 2 cups |
| Baking powder | 1/2 teaspoon |
| Salt | a little |
| Oil | as much |
Preparation method
Step-1: First I gather all the ingredients for the paste. Then I thicken the milk with hot water.
Step-2: Wash and clean the rice well. Then add the washed rice to the strained condensed milk.
Step-3: Boil 1 cup of water with jaggery and add a little salt. When the jaggery melts and mixes with the water, remove from the stove.
Step-4: When the rice cooked in milk becomes soft, add the jaggery water and let it cool so that the milk does not curdle. After adding the jaggery water, add 1 cup of sugar and stir for some more time so that it does not stick to the bottom.
Step-5: When the jaggery and sugar are mixed well, the sweet taste of the paste is obtained well. When the paste is done, do not remove it. Take the paste in a bowl and serve it with cashew nuts and raisins.
Step-6: To make luchi, take 2 cups of flour, add a little salt, baking powder, and a little oil and mix well with your hands.
Step-7: Once mixed, add a little water to make a dough. Once the dough is made, let it rest for 1 hour.

Step-8: After 1 hour, knead the dough well and make small balls, then roll them out one by one.
Step-9: Now heat the oil in a pan and fry the luchis one by one. Once all the luchis are fried, serve them beautifully with the pais.
Task: Cultural Background
I said in the beginning that pais and luchis are a staple food of India, they prepare them on their various occasions or during puja festivals. Even for hospitality, it is an ideal food for them. Especially it is one of the favorite dishes of the people of North Bengal and South Bengal in India.

This would definitely taste great for Ron the whole procedures. In my country, we don't usually mix too much ingredients when it comes to simple baking processes. I've actually learnt from this and I think I would love to try it out myself.
