Casting My Vote on Election Day and Ending the Night with Peaceful Memories
Greetings of the day,
This is @alfazmalek from #India,
Hello friends,
Good evening friends. Today was one of those days that felt simple from the outside but emotionally very satisfying from the inside. The day started much earlier than usual because today was election day in our area, and I had already decided that I would complete my voting responsibility as early as possible.
I woke up in the morning before sunrise, and the atmosphere outside already felt different. There was unusual calmness in the streets, but at the same time there was excitement among people because everyone was preparing to cast their vote. After waking up, I completed my daily routine activities one by one. I freshened up, cleaned the house a little, had tea, and spent some time getting ready. I do not usually rush in the morning, but today I wanted to leave early because one of my close friends was nominated in this election, and I genuinely wanted to support her by giving my vote.
After getting fully ready, I left for the voting center. On the way, I saw many people walking toward the same destination. Some were discussing politics seriously while others were simply enjoying the importance of the moment. The atmosphere near the polling booth was disciplined and peaceful.
Security arrangements were also properly managed, and volunteers were helping people stand in the correct lines. While standing there, I realized how important these small responsibilities are in our lives. Sometimes we complain about society and systems, but real change begins when ordinary people participate honestly. When my turn finally came, I entered the booth and cast my vote with happiness because I was supporting someone I personally respected and trusted. After voting, the staff marked my finger with voting ink. That small ink mark looked very ordinary, but it carried the feeling of responsibility and participation. Even after returning home, I kept looking at the mark again and again. I even tried to remove it by washing my hands several times, but the ink stayed there proudly as proof that I had completed my duty as a citizen.
After resting at home for some time, I decided to go to the market because a few household things were needed. The market was crowded because many people had come out after voting. Shops were busy, and the streets were filled with noise, lights, and movement. I walked slowly through different clothing shops and finally purchased a few shirts that I really liked.
I usually take time while selecting clothes because comfort matters to me more than fashion, but today I found some good shirts at reasonable prices. Along with shopping, I also bought some namkeen because snacks always make evening tea more enjoyable at home. While returning from the market, I remembered that medicine for the children was also needed, so I stopped at a medical store and bought it before coming back. These small responsibilities may look normal, but they are part of daily life that quietly keeps a family running smoothly.
Nighttime became the most peaceful and emotional part of my day. After dinner, I spent some quality time with my daughter Rumaisa. Children bring a different kind of calmness into life, especially after a busy day. I noticed how beautiful the flowers looked under the soft night light, and suddenly I thought of taking a black and white photograph. I placed my hand together with Rumaisa’s tiny hand near the flowers and captured the moment in monochrome style.
The black and white effect made the picture feel more emotional and timeless. Sometimes photographs are not just images; they become memories carrying feelings that words cannot fully explain. Looking at that photo gave me a strange peace because it reflected love, simplicity, and togetherness all at once. Today was not a grand or luxurious day, but it reminded me that happiness often hides inside ordinary moments: fulfilling responsibilities, supporting people we care about, shopping for small needs, and ending the day with family memories that stay in the heart for a long time.
THANK YOU
