Hello, dear friends.

Today I visited the shrine of Paribibi at the historic Lalbagh Fort in Bangladesh. Pari Bibi was the daughter of Shaista Khan, the influential Subedar or Governor of Bengal during the Mughal Empire. She died prematurely in 1678. After her death, her father, Isa Khan, built a tomb for her inside the Lalbagh Fort, which is known as Paribibi's shrine. Today I will visit Paribabi's shrine and pin it on the steem-atlas map.

The Subedar of Bengal, Isa Khan, was very fond of his daughter Paribibi, whom many also call Iran Dukhat Rahmat Banu Name. He arranged for his beloved daughter to marry Prince Azam, who later became the Mughal Emperor Muhammad Azam Shah.

But for some unknown reason, she died in 1678; the mystery of her death remains unsolved. At that time, the Lalbagh Fort was being built. Governor Isa Khan was overwhelmed with grief over the death of his daughter. He stopped the construction of the Lalbagh Fort and arranged for the tomb of his daughter inside the fort, which is honored in history as the tomb of Paribibi.

To visit Paribibi's tomb, you first have to buy a ticket and enter the Lalbagh Fort. When you enter, the tomb of Paribibi is the first thing you see. There is a water fountain around the tomb, which is decorated with a beautiful flower garden.

As soon as you pass the water fountain, the historical tomb comes into view. The tomb of Paribibi is rectangular. There are a total of eight rooms in the tomb. And the middle room is the tomb of Paribibi. Isa Khan made the tomb of his daughter with great care. He decorated the tomb with all the beauty for his beloved daughter.

History shows that the roof of the structure is made of stone, and there are four octagonal minarets at the four corners and an octagonal dome in the middle. The dome is covered with brass. According to many, the minarets were once covered with gold.

The interior of the structure is made of white marble. Its four outer sides are similar: a main rectangular facade has an arched entrance in a high niche, with a panel in the center and small arched niches on both sides, inside which doors with lintels are placed.

Like other Mughal architecture, its outer surface was also plastered. Four of the eight rooms are surrounded by stones up to one meter high. Archaeological investigations have revealed that these rooms were surrounded by beautiful, floral-patterned tiles which are no longer visible. Among the eight inner rooms, a small tomb of Paribibi Samsad Begum is still visible.

Inside scenery of the Paribanu shrine
Paribibi's shrine is one of the historical places of the country, and it is our national treasure. The Bangladesh government has taken several steps to preserve it, and it is managed by the Department of Archaeology. The entrance to Paribibi's shrine is closed, and much of the inside is visible from all sides. From there, there is a view of Paribibi's shrine and Samsad Banu's grave.

Paribibi's shrine speaks of a memory, a history, an era. The era that we left behind almost 400 years ago. Coming to the tomb of that great human being, I pay my respects to her and express my love for her.

Why, out of so many places, did you choose this one as your top recommendation?

There is a saying that there is no one as stupid as the one who does not know the history of the country. Lalbagh Fort, Subedar Shaista Khan, and his daughter Paribibi are our national treasures. Shaista Khan was an influential Subedar; his courage was on everyone's lips during the Mughal period. His daughter Paribibi was also beautiful as well as intelligent. She played a lot of roles in her father's administrative work; along with that, Paribibi was a very brave woman.

Visitors take rest outside the shrine
After her untimely death, Shaista Khan became sad and built a very spectacular tomb for her daughter. This tomb is about 400 years old. This is a part of the glorious history of our country. If you do not visit such a historical place, you will remain a fool. Here I myself have become a witness to history. So when I am offered to visit a place, I decide to visit this place. And I think this is a great place to visit.

What's the perfect time to visit, and what's the atmosphere like at that moment?

The shrine of Paribi is open from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm to visit. The shrine can be visited at any time during this time. However, in my opinion, the best time to visit Paribibi's shrine is in the afternoon. At this time, the sun is less bright. There is a lot of beautiful greenery around the tomb, and it is possible to observe them well at this time. The gentle breeze of the late afternoon creates a sense of comfort in the body, and visiting the historical place in a beautiful environment will be relatively good.

If you had to change something about this place, what would it be and why?

Paribibir Shrine has a history, dating back to 400 years. I don't have the courage to change anything here. But there are water fountains around the tomb, most of which have dried up. If I had the opportunity to change, I would revive the water fountains. I would make the surroundings attractive. So that the area becomes more spectacular, people will spread the word about the beauty of this place. The recognition of our historical place will increase many times.

If you had to invite a family member or another Steemian to visit this place, who would you take, and what reasons would you give them to convince them to go?

If I had to invite a Steamian friend to visit the place, I would invite @suboohi ma’am. I wouldn't have to struggle much to convince him. Because I heard that she herself likes to visit places with history. Even then, the steps I would have taken were-
I would have known the detailed history of Paribibir's shrine to her.
I would have known the amenities here in detail so that he could prepare.
I would have arranged a guide of his choice who could tell the real history, and @suboohi would have known the history.
