The Diary Game: Laziness almost won, but I still made it to the farm [ 14/06/2026]

Hello wonderful steemians.I’m back with another episode of my diary session with yours truly at @donsultan. Let me ask you something. Do you ever have those mornings when your body is begging you to stay in bed? Yeah, that was my morning today. But guess what? I still forced myself to the farm, and I have no regrets. Sit back and let me tell you about my day.
The Way My Morning Went
This morning was tough. As soon as I opened my eyes, my body was saying, "Stay down, don’t move." I’m sure many of you get that feeling. But farm work was calling, and I couldn’t ignore it. So I gathered my courage, jumped out of bed, prayed , and went to freshen up.

My Breakfast for the Day
I knew that going to the farm on an empty stomach wouldn’t end well. Farming really drains your energy, so I made sure to eat something solid. I was lucky to find pounded yam and egusi soup, so I sat down and enjoyed it. The taste was incredible, especially with the pieces of meat. That meal alone gave me the strength to tackle whatever the farm had in store for me. After a quick rest, I grabbed my tools and set off to the farm.

Time to Make the Ridges
When I arrived at the farmland and saw the work ahead, I just shook my head. There was plenty to do. But we all know that good things take effort, so I took my hoe and started making the ridges. I won't lie—making ridges is hard work. It really tests your strength and patience. But bit by bit, I kept at it until I covered a good portion of the land.

Putting the Potato Vines in the Soil
Once the ridges were finished, planting was next on my list. I already had my potato vines ready, so I began placing them on each ridge, one by one. Compared to making the ridges, planting was easier. But the constant bending was tough on my back. Still, I didn’t stop until every vine I brought was in the ground.

A Visit to My Older potato Farm
Before leaving, I decided to check on the potatoes I planted a few weeks ago. What I saw made me smile. The leaves looked fresh and green, spreading nicely across the ridges. That means they’re growing well and there are no issues. That moment reminded me that all the hard work in farming is worth it. When you see your crops thriving, you forget about all the sweat.

My Evening Meal
By the time I got home, I was running on empty. My body just wanted food and sleep. Since I didn't have the energy for anything heavy, I quickly cooked some spaghetti. After the kind of day I had, that spaghetti tasted amazing. It was simple, but it felt like the best meal in the world at that moment.

Wrapping Up the Day
As I write this, my eyes are heavy and sleep is calling me. But before I rest, I want to say I’m really proud of myself today. The same body that didn’t want to leave bed this morning ended up making ridges, planting potatoes, and even checking on the old farm.
One thing I’ve learned is that the days you feel the laziest can sometimes turn out to be your most productive, if you can just push yourself. I hope your day was a good one, too.
Thank you so much for following my diary this far. Stay blessed, and keep having a wonderful time.
