Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) is an engineering University located in a place in between old Dhaka & new Dhaka. It is one of the country's most prestigious engineering universities, produces world class Engineer. Visitors can easily reach BUET by public transportation system from any part of Dhaka such as rickshaw, bus etc. The campus is also close to Dhaka Medical College, Dhaka University, & Eden College. I entered BUET at the 2008-2009 session. I completed my undergraduate studies in the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering (MME) and graduated in 2014. During these six years, BUET became much more than a university.It became my second home and the foundation of my personal, professional, Philosophical career.

Studying at BUET was one of the most transformative experiences of my life. Coming from Chuadanga, moving to Dhaka and adapting to the rigorous academic environment was both challenging and rewarding. The Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering introduced me to the science of metals, heat treatment, steelmaking, welding, corrosion, and quality control. These subjects inspired my passion for metallurgy and eventually led me to build my career in the steel manufacturing industry. Today, as a Quality and Production Manager in a rebar manufacturing company, I apply many of the principles I learned at BUET every day.

Beyond my academic journey, my years at BUET transformed me in ways that no classroom ever could. While I entered the campus in 2009 seeking an engineering degree, I left in 2014 having discovered an entirely new way of understanding life. It was there that my philosophy of life was quietly dismantled and rebuilt. My perspectives on society, economics, politics, and human nature evolved profoundly, not through textbooks, but through countless conversations, debates, disagreements, and moments of reflection. Every discussion challenged an assumption, every friendship expanded a horizon, and every experience added another layer to my understanding of the world.

I was fortunate to be surrounded by remarkable friends and seniors who never allowed ideas to remain unquestioned. We spoke passionately about religion and philosophy, science and history, music and cinema, literature and art, democracy and socialism. Those conversations taught me that wisdom does not emerge from winning an argument—it grows from listening with humility, respecting opposing viewpoints, and embracing intellectual diversity.

Looking back, I realize that BUET did far more than educate an engineer; it shaped a human being. It taught me to think critically, to question fearlessly, to empathize deeply, and to remain curious in the face of uncertainty. The person who stepped onto the campus in 2009 and the one who walked away in 2014 shared the same name, but they were no longer the same individual.

It is where some of the most meaningful chapters of my life were written. Before our marriage, my wife and I spent countless moments there, dreaming about the future, sharing laughter, overcoming misunderstandings, facing difficult times, and creating memories that shaped our relationship. After marriage, returning to the same campus carried an even deeper meaning, reminding us of how far we had come together. Every joyful, intense, challenging, and loving moment we experienced there became a lesson that gradually transformed my philosophy of life. Whenever I reflect on the changes within myself, her name naturally comes to the forefront, for she is not only my life partner but also an inseparable part of the journey that made me who I am today.

BUET holds immense historical and educational significance in Bangladesh. Established in 1962 from the former Ahsanullah Engineering College, it has produced generations of engineers, architects, researchers, and innovators who have contributed significantly to the nation's infrastructure, industries, and technological advancement.

Long before the Liberation War in Bangladesh, BUET students and teachers actively participated in every major democratic movement that shaped the destiny of Bangladesh, beginning with the Language Movement of 1952, followed by the Six Point Movement of 1966 led by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Mass Uprising of 1969 against the Pakistani military regime, and finally the 1970 General Election, which embodied the aspirations of the Bengali people for self-determination. Through their active involvement in these historic movements, the BUET community cultivated a strong tradition of political awareness, democratic values, intellectual freedom, and social responsibility that would ultimately inspire many to join the Liberation War of 1971.
Following the Awami League's overwhelming victory in the 1970 General Election, the Pakistani military's refusal to transfer power intensified political unrest across East Pakistan. Consequently, universities, including BUET, emerged as vibrant centers of political activism, where students organized meetings, protest rallies, and cultural programs promoting Bengali nationalism while also forming volunteer groups in support of the independence movement. As the political crisis deepened and the prospect of armed conflict became increasingly inevitable, many BUET students began receiving informal military training in preparation for the struggle that lay ahead.

During the Liberation War of 1971, Many students suspended their education to join the Liberation War, while teachers and alumni contributed their knowledge, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to the struggle for independence. Their sacrifices and service became an inseparable part of BUET's identity.
