Birds eye view of our rural beautiful valley

Since Kashmir is a valley, it is surrounded by mountains on all sides. Even within the valley itself, there are countless small hills scattered across the landscape, adding even more charm to its natural beauty. These hills create numerous small valleys of their own, each with a unique and breathtaking character.

You can find these rolling hills almost everywhere in Kashmir, and our area is no exception. Our village lies along a long stretch nestled between these hills. Our farmlands and apple orchards are spread across the slopes, making farming both beautiful and challenging.

Today, we climbed one of these hills where we have an apple orchard. Our task was to provide support to some of the tree branches. As the apples continue to grow larger and heavier, their weight puts tremendous pressure on the branches, causing them to bend. Supporting these branches is essential to prevent them from breaking and to protect the trees from damage.

After we finished our work, I sat on top of the hill for a while. Looking around at the stunning scenery, I got the idea to record a video of our village and the neighboring villages, capturing the entire stretch of this beautiful landscape. Through this video, you’ll get a glimpse of how our region is settled among the hills and what life here looks like—how incredibly beautiful it is in different seasons, yet how challenging it can sometimes be.

As the sun began to set, it added a magical touch to the already breathtaking scenery. I tried to make the video long enough so you could truly appreciate the landscape. It also offers beautiful views of our apple orchards, carefully cultivated on these hillsides.
