Sonargaon is a wonderful blend of Bangladesh's history, culture, and religious heritage. Located within this historical region is the Alhaj Abul Bashar Jame Mosque and Madrasa, which is not only a place of worship for the local people but also known as a center for education and social development. In memory of Alhaj Abul Bashar, his son, prominent industrialist Dr. Sumon Chowdhury, built the mosque and madrasa in 2021. The modern design of the mosque has caught the attention of people, as it is situated on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway. The mosque and madrasa are run by the RRM Group of Companies. I am an electrical engineer with the RRM group. Today, I have shown the location of the mosque below through the Steem-atlas pin code.

The first thing that strikes you when you visit this mosque is its peaceful and pleasant atmosphere. The trees and open spaces around it create an atmosphere where the mind calms down. Being a little away from the hustle and bustle of the village, there is a kind of tranquility here, which helps to increase concentration while praying. In addition to praying five times a day in the mosque, about a hundred orphan children are taught Arabic. There are residential facilities for children studying in the madrasa. I have prayed Friday prayers in the mosque several times.

The architecture of the mosque is very grand, quite beautiful, and neat. This mosque, built in a combination of white and green colors, catches the eye from afar. Upon entering, one can see clean floors, beautifully decorated prayer spaces, and adequate lighting and ventilation. Special attention has been given to ensuring that worshippers can worship comfortably. Various types of fruit trees have been planted in front of the mosque. In addition, various types of flowers and trees have been planted to enhance its beauty. The grave of Alhaj Abul Bashar Sahib is next to the mosque. The mosque is opened during prayer times so that the people around can pray in a pleasant environment.

Imam prayer places with different designs

The madrasa attached to this mosque is an important educational institution for children and teenagers in the area. Quranic education, Arabic language, and basic knowledge of Islam are taught here. Children from many poor families also get the opportunity to study here, which helps bring a big change in their lives. The sincerity of the teachers and the care for the students make this madrasa more special. Arabic lessons, food, and accommodation are completely free for orphan children. Seeing the beauty of the mosque, visitors come to take pictures.

A place to keep religious books

The daily life of the students of the madrasa is very systematic. They start their day by reciting the Quran in the morning, then gradually take lessons in various subjects. Not only religious education, but also emphasis is placed on morality and good behavior. As a result, the students here are not only educated, but also develop into good people. Every Friday after the Jumu'ah prayers, Dr. Suman Chowdhury, the respected chairman of the RRM group, visits orphaned children. The five-storey mosque building has a prayer room, library, and office rooms.

The mosque is built on an area of ​​five acres. The minaret of the mosque can be seen from a distance, and it is clear that there is a beautiful mosque here. In addition, the various designs inside the mosque attract the attention of the Muslims. The ablution place and washroom of the mosque are very clean. The name of the mosque indicates that it is named after a prominent industrialist. The entire mosque and madrasa are air-conditioned, and security is controlled by CCTV cameras. Since it is located on the Dhaka to Chittagong Highway, long-distance bus passengers pray in the mosque during prayers. There is a team to look after the mosque in addition to the teachers.

I am an electrical engineer of the RRM group, so after I went to the mosque, everyone was sincere with me. I look after the electrical sections. Then I talk to the teachers of the mosque and the madrasa because everyone knows me. I go around the whole mosque and take pictures. Besides, I eat mangoes from the fruit trees next to the mosque. I go near the grave of our company founder, Alhaj Abul Bashar Saheb, and pray. Then I go around the different units of the mosque.
