What is your community's name, and where is it located? Tell us and share the Google Maps, Steematlas, and Google Plus location.
My community is Deora village, a rural area in Comilla district. Currently, I work in Dhaka as an electrical engineer, but my village home is in Comilla. The environment of the village is still very peaceful, green, and full of natural beauty. Most of the people here depend on agriculture. Rice, vegetables, various seasonal crops, and fruits are their main source of livelihood. In our village, fish farming is one of the main occupations along with agricultural work. Seeing the busyness of farmers at different times of the year, I understand how important their hard work is for our food security.

I myself love farming. When I go to the village on vacation, I go to the field with my family members and see farming up close. I like to plant trees, work in the fields, or help with crop care when I get the opportunity. I think agriculture has a deep connection with human life, nature, and culture. It is possible to further develop agriculture by using modern technology, which will also play an important role in the country's economy.

With my village's location added to Google Maps, Steam Atlas, and other map-based platforms, new people can easily find the area and learn about our village's agricultural lifestyle and natural beauty. For me, this community is not just a place to live, but also a symbol of my roots and pride.
In your community, what is the most common occupation, and why is the occupation important to your community?
The most common occupations in my area are agriculture and fish farming. Most families here are involved in agriculture in some way or the other. In addition to rice, vegetable, and fruit farming, many earn a living by cultivating fish in ponds. These two occupations are the main source of income for the people of our area and play an important role in keeping the local economy running.
I am also involved in agriculture and fish farming. I cultivate different species of fish in our pond and regularly maintain the fruit garden at home. I enjoy doing these activities in my free time. I have recorded videos and pictures of my pond fish farming and fruit garden and shared them with everyone, so that others can also learn about the agricultural lifestyle of our village and become interested.
I believe that it is possible to make agriculture and fish farming more profitable through modern technology and proper care. These occupations are not only a source of income for our families, but are also very important for safe food production, employment creation, and the overall development of the village. Therefore, I always respect agriculture and fish farming and want to be associated with this work in the future.
What tools or skills are used in the occupation that people in your community do?
The people of our community are mainly involved in agriculture and fish farming. These professions require various types of equipment and practical skills. Ploughs, tractors, power tillers, irrigation pumps, spray machines, spades, sickles, and high-quality seeds are used in agriculture. In fish farming, things like preparing ponds, selecting high-quality fry, fish food, nets, water testing, and regular maintenance are very important.

To do these works successfully, experience, hard work, patience, and the ability to make the right decisions at the right time are required. Good yields can be obtained if you have knowledge about weather, soil conditions, crop diseases, and fish health.

I also do farming and fish farming. I raise fish in my own pond and take care of the orchard. I have gained practical experience while doing these works. I believe that using modern technology and the right skills makes agriculture and fish farming more profitable and plays an important role in improving the quality of life of the people of our community.
Tell us the challenges people are facing in this occupation
People involved in agriculture and fish farming in our area face various problems. Currently, the cost of production has increased significantly due to the increase in the prices of fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, fish feed, and other agricultural inputs. Many times, crops and fish are damaged due to natural disasters, excessive rain, drought, or floods. In addition, farmers and fish farmers are deprived of the desired profit due to not getting a fair market price for crops and fish.

My papaya tree has borne fruit.
Maintaining the quality of pond water, fish diseases, and high food prices are also big challenges in fish farming. In agriculture, the shortage of workers and the increase in labor costs make it difficult for many to continue working.
I myself do agriculture and fish farming, so I have practical experience of these problems. Still, with proper planning, use of modern technology, and increased government cooperation, agriculture and fish farming will be more profitable, and the quality of life of the people in our area will improve.
Share with us how this occupation supports the local economy and families in your community.
Agriculture and fish farming are the mainstay of the local economy in our area. Many families earn regular income through this profession and can meet their daily needs. Farmers produce rice, vegetables and fruits, while fish farmers cultivate various species of fish in ponds and sell them in the market. This creates employment and income opportunities not only for their families, but also for local markets, traders, transport workers and agricultural input sellers.
I also do farming and fish farming. The fish in my pond and the products produced from my orchard are beneficial for our family, and we can also earn extra income by selling the excess production in the market. This improves the financial condition of the family and makes it easier to save for the future.
In my opinion, agriculture and fish farming are not just a profession, but also the driving force of the lives and economy of the people in our area. The development of this profession increases employment, increases food production, and plays an important role in the economic development of the entire community.

I found your article very interesting because it shows the beauty of community life and the value of farming. Fish farming is not an easy business, but it is rewarding when managed well. Thank you for sharing your story. I learned something valuable from this wonderful post.
