Busy morning, wall wounds and the story of my daily work

Like every day, this morning also started with a rush of busyness. The lives of ordinary people like us actually revolve around the wheels of work. The plan of today's work starts spinning in my head since the morning light. When I reach the site, the environment around me takes a different form. The cold morning air and the rush of work with it - all together make the day move along quite quickly. Although the stress of yesterday's work remains in my body to some extent, I have to get down to work again with new energy on a new day. There is a strange self-satisfaction in working with my own hands, which is actually difficult to express in writing.

Yesterday was a very hard day. Those who are involved in this kind of work know how difficult it is to hack or cut grooves in the wall. The continuous noise of the cutting machine, the blows of the hammer and chisel and the brick dust and dust flying in the air - all together create a suffocating situation. In the midst of this hardship, we had to cut the wall and install the copper pipes and drain pipes of our air conditioner (AC). While installing the pipes, one has to keep the exact measurements in mind, because a slight mistake can cause problems in the functioning of the entire system or the gas line later. With a lot of attention and caution, I was able to complete the piping work yesterday.

Today's work is a little different, but equally important. The parts of the wall that were cut after installing the pipes are now like big empty holes. Today, my main task is to fill these empty spaces with a mixture of cement and sand and close them neatly. The cement mixture has to be prepared and mixed with a spoon or a mortar and pestle to level it. Although the work seems easy from the outside, it actually requires a lot of patience. You have to make sure that every corner is filled properly. Otherwise, the wall may become weak or crack after plastering later. When I gently apply the spice to the wall and make it smooth again, it feels like I am getting a joy like mending broken things.

When I got a chance to take a breather during work, I thought of capturing these moments on camera. Many of us who work hard, may not fully understand from a distance how much hard work is hidden behind our work. Through these pictures, I wanted to share a real form of my daily struggle with you. Here are my workplace, brick walls, pipeline work, and some of my selfies. There is no artificiality in taking these pictures while wearing work clothes on a dusty body, there is only a story of honest and hard work.

No matter how stressful the work is, at the end of the day, when the work is done well, all the fatigue disappears in an instant. It may take an afternoon to finish the work today, but there is no regret in that. The joy of earning your living by working honestly is different.
