Zilla Parishad Dak Bungalow

01 What kind of Offbeat Landmarks have you visited? Briefly introduce yourself.

Today I visited the Zilla Parishad Dak Bungalow and came with its review. It is located in Basurhat Bazar, Companiganj Upazila, Noakhali District. This Dak Bungalow is also known as Basurhat Dak Bungalow. The year of establishment of this Dak Bungalow is not known. However, the dilapidated nameplate here is not clear as the writings on the stone have been erased. However, according to the local people here, it is known that they have been seeing it here almost since before independence or it has been in operation. And the old building of this Dak Bungalow is of a very unique design which I have shared with you through photography. It is a historical place which has been known and maintained its position as Dak Bungalow for ages.

02 How were the activities, services and facilities at this place? (With pictures + prices, videos)

The activities of this Dak Bungalow are currently closed. In fact, the activities of Dak Bangla are that when special guests, especially government guests or high-ranking state officials come to visit, they can basically stay here as guests. Also, foreigners used to stay or rest in these Dak Bungalows. But it is currently closed and later it was used as a community center, which is also currently closed. In short, this institution is now only in name and retains its old history with tradition but currently no activities or services are available here.

This Dak Bungalow is a very old state guest rest house, which has been operating here since the British period, that is, it was built during the British period. Later, this building was converted into a community center, but since the community center is currently closed, it is only known by its name. Currently, it is just empty and the main activity of the Dak Bungalow is going on next to the Upazila Parishad. However, only a symbol of history and tradition remains here. So now people come here just to know the history and see the tradition, and since it is always open, they come here and spend some time.

04 Share your experiences of that place as a Curious Explorer.

Actually, I liked this Dak Bungalow very much. I especially liked the design of this building. It is a very old building that is known to the local people. However, even though it is such an old building, the local administration always keeps this Dak Bungalow clean and tidy. I especially found the gate of this Dak Bungalow and the entrance to the Dak Bungalow very clean and tidy, which I liked very much. And there is a big pond in the Dak Bungalow, which is quite nice. Actually, I felt very good to come here for a visit and since there is no activity going on here, it has been created in a very quiet and pleasant environment. It has a boundary wall and I felt very good to witness this wonderful building as a witness to a very beautiful heritage history. It is very important to visit such places to know the history and heritage. Then we can know a lot about our past and history. This Dak Bungalow has balconies on both sides and in front of the building and I saw a huge room inside which is very extraordinary. I felt very good to come here and visit.
