SC-S33/W4- "Explore and Review"- Hospitals and healthcare centers.

Assalamu Alaikum I Hope everyone is well. Today I am participating in the “Explore and Review – Hospitals and Healthcare Centers” challenge of Steemit Learning Challenge Season-33, Week-04. As per this week's topic, I am sharing with you my visit and experience with an important healthcare institution I know, Rangpur Medical College Hospital. On August 6, 2026, I went to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. I had gone there to meet my younger sister, who is studying nursing near the medical intersection. At that time, I captured the outside environment of the hospital, the main entrance, ambulance, vehicles and the surrounding scenes on my mobile phone. I did not enter the hospital during this visit. However, many years ago, my father was admitted to this hospital for treatment. So, I had the opportunity to compare that old experience with the environment seen from the outside at present.

About Rangpur Medical College Hospital

Rangpur Medical College Hospital is an important government medical institution in Rangpur city. Numerous people from various areas including Rangpur come here for treatment. The hospital has various types of medical services and specialized departments and also has emergency treatment facilities. It is also listed as a Medical College Hospital in government health information. Due to the large area of the hospital and various medical departments, it is known as an important health care center for the people of Rangpur region.

Location and transportation

Rangpur Medical College Hospital is located near the Medical Mor area of Rangpur city, so it is relatively easy to find the place. During my visit this time, I saw many rickshaws, auto-rickshaws, private cars and other vehicles in front of the hospital. The hospital is always very busy due to the patients and their relatives. There is also a lot of traffic in front of the hospital and on the roads around it. I have tried to capture this busyness and the real scenes in front of the hospital entrance in the pictures I took.

Infrastructure and Environment

The outer building of the hospital is quite large and spread over several sections. During my visit this time, I saw the current condition of the building from the outside. There are several large trees and greenery around the hospital, which creates a somewhat relaxing atmosphere in the busy hospital area. I saw many cars parked in the open space next to it. However, I did not enter the hospital during this visit, so I am not personally commenting on the current condition of the internal wards, waiting rooms, toilets, hand washing facilities, AC or other internal facilities. I think that the cleanliness and orderly environment inside a hospital is equally important as the external beauty.

My old experience

My family has an old memory associated with this hospital. Long ago, my father was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for treatment. At that time, I got the opportunity to see the hospital environment very closely. At that time, the hospital environment did not seem very good to me. The environment seemed a bit messy due to the crowd of patients and relatives, busyness and various types of problems. But that was a long time ago. Seeing the hospital environment from outside during this visit, I felt that there has been some change and improvement in the hospital area over time. Especially in the external environment, plants, surroundings of the building and the view of vehicle management, efforts to improve compared to before are visible.

Rangpur Medical College Hospital has various medical departments and also has Emergency & Casualty service for emergency patients. During my visit this time, I saw an ambulance in front of the hospital, which I captured a picture of. It is very important for a patient to reach the hospital quickly in an emergency. However, since I have not observed the medical activities inside the hospital or received any treatment, it would not be right to comment on the services of the current doctors, nurses, emergency department or other staff based on my current experience. I think it is very important to distinguish between what you see and what you know to keep a review credible.

A large medical college hospital requires various types of tests and medical technology. Rangpur Medical College Hospital also has various medical departments and diagnostic facilities. However, during this visit, I did not go inside the hospital's Laboratory or Diagnostic Department and did not do any tests. So, how long does it take to get the report or what modern equipment is currently being used? I am not writing anything based on speculation on these matters. I hope that I will have the opportunity to observe these matters better when I go for treatment directly at the hospital in the future.

Waiting time

During my observation in front of the hospital this time, there was a lot of people and I saw various types of vehicles moving. It is normal for a large government hospital to have many patients and relatives gather every day. However, I have not verified the exact time that one has to wait for registration, seeing a doctor, getting tested, or getting reports. Therefore, without mentioning the specific time in this regard, I am only highlighting the busy environment outside that I saw. However, according to my previous experience, I can say that it takes some time to conduct tests in the field of medicine because there are many patients, and it takes more time overall.

Services, Cost and Overall Evaluation

Rangpur Medical College Hospital is a government institution and is an important medical center for the general and middle-income people. Since government hospitals provide medical services at a relatively affordable cost, people from different classes and professions come here for treatment. The quality of a hospital's service does not only depend on medical treatment or modern equipment, but also the humane behavior of doctors, nurses and other staff with patients and relatives is also an important part of it. When my father was admitted here for treatment a long time ago, the environment did not seem very good to me. However, after a long time, when I came here and saw the surrounding environment, I saw some positive changes compared to before. The location of the hospital is also quite convenient and large, so there is an opportunity to get various types of medical services. There are trees and greenery around the hospital, and I also saw the presence of ambulances in addition to emergency services. However, since such a large hospital serves a large number of patients and relatives every day, I think there is room for further improvement in terms of traffic congestion, parking, waiting areas and information about services. Especially if adequate seating arrangements for patients and relatives, more orderly parking, easy information services and technology-based online appointments and instructions from various departments are introduced or improved, the suffering of the people will be reduced to a great extent. The most promising thing for me is that I have seen some improvement in the external environment compared to the past experience. I hope that in the future this hospital will become cleaner, more beautiful, modern and patient-friendly and will ensure more accessible and quality medical services for the common people.
