THE DIARY GAME: 4TH MAY, 2026 | ONE OF THOSE MONDAYS NO LIGHT, BAD MOOD & A LONG DAY
Last night, NEPA didn’t bring light at all, so I didn’t sleep as comfortably as I would have liked. That alone already affected my mood before the day even started.
So I woke up this morning feeling tired and a bit grumpy. I’ve never really liked Mondays, so today wasn’t any different. Because of that mood, I ended up getting ready late for work.
Normally, I trek to my junction to save cost, but today I had to take a bike so I wouldn’t be too late.
As expected, Monday mornings in Abuja were hectic. It was hard getting a car because of the crowd, but thankfully I eventually found one going my way.
When I got to work, I started with cleaning and arranging the space. I work as a secretary in a car stand, so there’s always something to do.
When my colleagues came in, they complimented my hair I made it over the weekend and honestly, that lifted my mood a bit.
But the day didn’t stay calm for long. We had a lot of customers coming in for marketing. It was a busy day filled with taking pictures of cars, recording details, and attending to people who came to inspect vehicles. Everything was just back to back.
To make things worse, we had an issue with our boss, and it ended with a salary deduction. That really affected my mood, but there wasn’t much we could do about it.
Finally, after all the stress, we closed for the day. I got home, had my bath, ate, and went straight to sleep because I really needed the rest and just wanted to clear my head.
Some days are just like that stressful and draining but we keep going. Hopefully, I wake up tomorrow in a much better mood.
