Hello, Today was one of those days that reminded me how important food is in our daily lives. Although I started the day with hope and energy, I ended up spending most of it with an empty stomach. It wasn't the kind of experience I planned for, but it definitely gave me something to write about.

A Hopeful Morning

I woke up early this morning feeling Sad and ready to face the day. After saying my morning prayers and doing a few chores around the house, I headed to the kitchen thinking about what I would have for breakfast.
Unfortunately, reality greeted me at the kitchen door. After opening the cupboards, checking the pots, and searching the refrigerator, I realized there was nothing substantial to eat. I stood there for a few minutes hoping food would magically appear, but that only happens in dreams. I drank some water and told myself that I would find something to eat later in the day.

My Long Afternoon

As the morning turned into afternoon, hunger started knocking at my door. At first, I ignored it and focused on other activities. I spent some time on my phone, replied to messages, and browsed through social media. That was a mistake. Everywhere I looked, people were posting delicious meals. Some were sharing pictures of jollof rice, fried chicken, and snacks. At that moment, social media felt like a punishment. The more food pictures I saw, the hungrier I became. To distract myself, I decided to clean my room and arrange a few things around the house. It helped for a while, but my stomach refused to cooperate. It kept reminding me that water is not a complete meal.

Imagination

By late afternoon, my imagination had become very active.I started remembering meals I had eaten weeks ago. I could almost taste them again. I imagined eating rice, beans, Semovita, and even snacks that I normally take for granted. It was funny how hunger made every food seem special. At one point, I even found myself watching cooking videos online. Looking back now, that was probably the worst decision of the day. Instead of helping, it made me even hungrier.

My Evening Reflection

As evening approached, I sat quietly and reflected on the day. Spending several hours without food helped me appreciate something many of us often overlook. Food is truly a blessing. There are many people around the world who experience hunger regularly, and today's experience gave me a small glimpse into what that might feel like. Although I felt uncomfortable, I tried to remain positive and grateful. Difficult moments help us appreciate the good days even more.
