Step 1: Preparing the Puri Dough

To prepare this delicious Halwa Puri. First I prepared the Puri Dough. For this purpose I took flour in a large bowl. Then added a little salt a pinch of baking soda and appropriate amount of ghee to it. After mixing all the ingredients well. I kneaded a soft and smooth dough by adding water little by little. After the dough was ready. I covered it for about 15 to 20 minutes. So that it sat well and later the Puri became soft puffy and delicious.

Step 2: Preparing the Halwa

After preparing the Puri dough. I started preparing the Halwa. First I kept all the necessary ingredients in front of me. So that the work could be done easily. To make the Halwa. I used semolina sugar ghee raisins and almonds. I cut the almonds into thin slices. So that later the decoration of the Halwa would also look beautiful. Having all the ingredients ready in advance makes cooking easier. And everything can be added on time. Now all the ingredients were ready. And in the next step I started making delicious and fragrant Halwa with their help.

Step 3: Roasting the Semolina

IMG_20260724_180255_576.jpg
Now I started the actual process of making the halwa. First I heated ghee as required in a pan. When the ghee was well heated. I added a cup of semolina to it. After that I started roasting the semolina on low flame continuously with the help of a spoon. I kept stirring the spoon carefully. So that the semolina did not stick to the bottom of the pot. And is safe from burning. After a few minutes. The semolina started turning light golden in colour. And started giving off a fragrant aroma. Which was a sign that the semolina was well roasted. And was ready for the next step.

Step 4: Preparing the Halwa

IMG_20260724_181012_383.jpg
When the semolina was well roasted. And its color started to turn light golden brown. I carefully added three glasses of water to it. As I had used one cup of semolina. While adding the water. I kept stirring the spoon continuously so that no lumps formed. And the mixture was uniform. After a few minutes. When the semolina started absorbing the water. I added one cup of sugar to it. Then I kept stirring the spoon continuously again. So that the sugar dissolved well and the halwa became soft smooth and delicious. Gradually the halwa started to thicken. And its aroma spread throughout the kitchen. Which made it clear that the halwa was almost ready.
IMG_20260724_181043_077.jpgIMG_20260724_181110_280.jpgIMG_20260724_181534_442.jpg

Untitled design_20250901_113723_0000.png

Step 5: Final Preparation of Halwa

After adding the sugar. I cooked the halwa while stirring it continuously with a spoon. So that the sugar dissolves well and no lumps form. Within a few minutes. The halwa started to thicken and its fragrant aroma spread throughout the kitchen. When the halwa was fully cooked. And started to leave the sides of the pot. I added raisins. And chopped almonds to it to enhance its taste and beauty. Finally I turned off the heat of the stove. Thus a soft fragrant and very tasty halwa is prepared. Which was ready to be served with puri.

Untitled design_20250901_113723_0000.png

Step 6: Preparing to roll the puri

When the dough was well set. It was ready to be made into puris. I kneaded the dough again lightly to make it soft and smooth. After that I made small equal sized balls of the dough. Then I lightly dusted each ball with dry flour. And rolled it into a round and medium thick puri with the help of a rolling pin. I tried to make all the puris almost the same size. So that they would cook evenly while frying. In this way. I rolled out all the puris and kept them for frying in the next step.

Step 7: Frying the Puri and Final Presentation

Once all the Puri were rolled and ready. I added a suitable amount of ghee to a pan and kept it on low heat to heat. As soon as the ghee was well heated. I started carefully dropping the Puri one by one into it. Fry each Puri until it turned golden and crispy on both sides. The Puri puffed up a lot while frying. Which made their shape look even more beautiful. In this way I finished preparing all the Puri. Finally I decorated the hot Puri beautifully on a plate with freshly made halwa. And served it with an attractive presentation. Which made this traditional breakfast look even more delicious and attractive.

While mechanically, they may be similar to our Indonesian fried cakes, as they're primarily made from wheat flour and sugar and are fried. But the flavor is certainly different, and Salwa puri is noticeably more delicious with its soft and light texture.

It's not just about culinary or even deliciousness, but traditional cakes play an important role in preserving and saving the original culture of a region or country.

I think the presentation of the ingredients and method for making this traditional Pakistani flatbread is very comprehensive, and anyone can learn to make it. We would like to thank you for sharing everything so we can try it, and hopefully, it will work. 🙏

¡Holaaa amiga!🤗
