The Diary Game by @malikaamir/ 11/04/2026/ How a Simple Story Saved My Brother from Quitting School .
Hello Steem for Pakistan!
Today was a very emotional and rewarding day for me. As a student myself, I know how hard some subjects can feel, but today I realized that teaching someone else is the best way to learn.
An Emotional Afternoon
This afternoon, my younger brother Nadeem came back from school and collapsed straight onto the charpai, sobbing his heart out. I rushed to him, worried. "Nadeem, my brave brother, what happened? Why are you saying you won't go to school anymore?"
Between his sobs, he replied, "Bhai Jan... Teacher said there is a test on Noun tomorrow. I don’t know what this 'Noun' monster is! I will fail. It’s better if I just quit school."
The 2-Minute Solution
I smiled, sat beside him, and placed a hand on his head. "Is that all? Come here. Your brother will explain 'Noun' to you in just two minutes."
I told him: "Nadeem, close your eyes. Now, name anything that comes to your mind."
He closed his eyes and started listing: "Ammi... Abu... our Cow... the Chair in the room... my Pen..."
"Stop," I said. "Open your eyes."
The "Aha!" Moment
He looked at me, confused. "Is that it? Are only these five things Nouns in the whole world?"
I laughed and explained the golden rule: "Nadeem, the name of every single thing in this world—whether we can see it, touch it, or even just feel it—is a Noun."
His eyes lit up. "So you mean... Ammi is a Noun, Village is a Noun, Water is a Noun, and even Love is a Noun?"
"Exactly! Bravo!" I replied. "Pen, Chair, Book, Peshawar, Pakistan... if it has a name, it’s a Noun."
Conclusion of My Day
Believe me, friends, the boy who was ready to quit school five minutes ago was now nagging our mother, asking: "Ammi, when will it be morning? I can't wait to tell my teacher everything about Nouns!"
What is a Noun?
Definition: The name of a person, place, thing, or idea is called a Noun.
Examples: Pen, Chair, Mother, Father, Peshawar, Happiness, Cow.
Did You Know? 📚
A great scholar named Panini, who lived in the Gandhara region of our Pakistan about 2,500 years ago, wrote in his famous book 'Ashtadhyayi' that anything with a name is called a Noun. It’s amazing to think that these grammar rules have such deep roots in our own land!
