SCS32-W5 | Real-Life Problem Solving Challenge: Study Techniques

in Steem For Pakistan4 hours ago

Assalamu Alaikum and greetings to all. Hope everyone is well. I am currently involved in the repair and installation of air conditioners (AC) as an expatriate worker. My work is completely technical and I have to face new problems, equipment and situations every day.

Although I am not an academic student, every job in my life is a learning process. Through real-life experience, I learn something new every day and try to improve myself. In this article, I will share my daily learning methods and real-life experiences.

Which study technique do I use and how effective is it?

My main study technique is practical learning (learning by doing) and observation-based learning.

While working on AC, I directly see the inside of the machine, find the problem and try to solve it. Many times, if I do not understand a new machine or problem, I observe it deeply and learn from experienced colleagues.

👉 My learning methods are:

  • Learning by doing

  • Learning by asking questions from experts

  • Learning from mistakes

  • Understanding by watching YouTube videos

👉 The biggest advantage of this method:

  • Real knowledge is created

  • Something is easily remembered

  • Problem-solving skills increase

  • Self-confidence increases

What is the biggest distraction and how do I control it?

My biggest distraction is the instability between mobile phone and work pressure.

Sometimes, looking at unnecessary things on mobile loses attention. Again, if the work pressure is high, I try to finish the work quickly, which is likely to cause mistakes.

👉 How I control it:

  • Keep mobile away during work

  • Plan before starting work

  • Work slowly and carefully

  • Work with breaks so that my head is cool

  • These habits help me a lot to stay focused.

  • What good habit improves my performance?

My best habit is to always keep a learning mindset and ask questions.

Whenever I don't understand a problem, I don't feel shy about asking senior or experienced colleagues. Although I was a little hesitant at first, I later realized that asking questions is the best way to learn.

👉 Benefits of this habit:

  • Less mistakes

  • New techniques can be learned

  • Work efficiency increases quickly

  • Self-confidence builds

Also, I try to remember some things at the end of each day's work so that the same mistakes are not made in the future.

What digital tools do I use?

Nowadays, digital tools play a big role in learning. I also use some important tools:

  • YouTube – To learn AC repair, installation and troubleshooting

  • Google Search – To find a quick solution in case of a problem

  • WhatsApp – To communicate with colleagues and get work advice

👉 YouTube is especially important to me, because watching videos makes it easier to understand real work.

Besides, sometimes I use notes to remember important things.

Advice for anxiety or depression

Currently, many people feel stress or anxiety due to study or work pressure. I would like to give some advice for them:

  • Don't put too much pressure on yourself - try to learn slowly

  • Set small goals - don't try to do everything at once

  • Talk to others - share problems without leaving them alone

  • Take a break - breaks in between work are very important

  • Give yourself time - improvement comes with time

If you have peace of mind, both learning and work become easier.

In my life, learning does not only mean reading books, but also daily work, experience and solving real problems. As an expatriate worker, I believe that learning is possible from any job if there is attention, patience and interest.

Small daily learnings create the foundation for big success in the future.

My friend I agree with you that real learning comes from doing work yourself. I think this is very true because practical experience teaches us things that books alone cannot. I also agree with your habit of asking experience people when you face a problem. Different people feel shy to ask questions but this is actually one of fastest ways to learn. Your AC repair work is a great example of learning through real life experience. Best wishes for the challenge. Good luck
