SCS32-W5 | Real-Life Problem Solving Challenge: Study Techniques
Hello
Steemit community! Today I am very excited to participate in this Week 5 challenge about Study Techniques. As an e-commerce entrepreneur and digital marketer, "studying" for me is not about school exams; it is about continuous learning, product research, and keeping up with market trends. Here is how I solve real-life learning challenges in my career.
01. What study technique do you often use, and how effective is it?
The study technique I use the most is "Active Implementation" (Learning by Doing). Whenever I need to learn a new concept—like setting up a new dropshipping store, analyzing advertising metrics, or mastering a new marketplace—I don't just read about it. I write down the key steps in a physical notebook and instantly apply them practically on my laptop.
This approach is extremely effective. In the fast-paced e-commerce industry, theoretical knowledge changes quickly, but when I practically implement a strategy, it sticks in my mind permanently. Writing down the main points on a note helps me map out my business workflow clearly.
02. What is the biggest distraction that affects your studies, and how do you control it?
My biggest distraction is Mindless Mobile Scrolling and Instant Notifications. While doing product research or studying marketing data on my computer, smartphone notifications (like casual messages or social media alerts) can easily break my deep focus.
To control this problem, I use a strict technique: "Digital Isolation during Deep Work". I put my mobile phone on silent mode and place it completely out of my sight (either in another room or inside a drawer) for chunks of 2 hours. This simple boundary allows me to focus 100% on my research without any sudden interruptions.
03. What is one good habit that helps you improve your academic/professional performance?
One excellent habit that keeps me moving forward is Consistency and a Growth Mindset. I have made it a strict rule to dedicate at least one hour every single day to learning something brand new about my field, no matter how busy my day is. Whether it is a new strategy for driving traffic or optimization tricks, this daily habit builds up over time and keeps my business skills highly competitive.
04. Explain any digital tools, apps, or resources that you commonly use for study?
The primary digital tool I use daily for my research and learning is Google Chrome (and Google Search Ecosystem). For an e-commerce professional, Google is the ultimate library. I use it to study competitor stores, analyze global market trends, and find verified data.
Additionally, I utilize digital note-taking spaces to organize my daily research work and keep track of data points seamlessly. It acts as my digital brain, helping me store valuable information that I can access with a single click.
05. What advice would you give to students/learners who struggle with anxiety and depression during their studies?
As someone who manages the daily pressures of online business, I know how overwhelming learning can become. Here are 4 pieces of advice based on my personal experience:
Break It Down: Never try to learn everything at once. Divide your huge topic into small, bite-sized tasks. Take it step-by-step.
Take Physical Breaks: Do not stay locked in front of screens for hours. Go for a short walk in your courtyard (sehn) or on the roof to get fresh air. It instantly clears mental fatigue.
Disconnect to Reconnect: Take regular intervals where you stay completely away from digital devices. Sit quietly and enjoy a cup of tea without touching your phone.
Don't Compare Your Journey: Everyone learns at their own pace. Focus on improving your own skills by 1% daily rather than comparing yourself to others on social media
