The Diary Game: 4th May, 2026. Crazy Pretty Engaged Day.
So hello guys, this is @otidi again. Good evening. I trust you all had a wonderful day. As for me, I had a great day… a mix of everything as usual. But today’s “usual” felt a bit different.
Let’s go straight into it.
This morning, I woke up feeling fine, completely okay. I got up, handled my routine, and one of the things on my mind was returning a book. You all remember the book I was reading earlier. I was actually supposed to return it about a week ago, but anytime I went to the office of the person who gave it to me, a close friend, he wasn’t around. So I kept postponing it.
But today, I told myself I must return it. After getting ready, I to his place and finally gave the book back. I went there with my brother. After that, I headed to the junction and took a bike straight to work.
When I got to the shop, it was already open. My lady was there, she had opened it for me. I wasn’t expecting that, even though we had talked about her coming over since there was no election today and she wanted to spend time around. She actually got there before me.
When I arrived, I met her sweeping. I appreciated her, and then we both started cleaning up together. After that, we sat down and talked for a while, just catching up.
From around that time till about 10 or 11, no students showed up. I wasn’t expecting many anyway, just one person, since the others were supposed to resume school. But around 11, two of them showed up, which surprised me because they live in completely different areas. I didn’t expect them to come in together like that. Then Destiny, one of my good students, came in late. I asked him why, but he didn’t really give a clear answer.
Not long after, NEPA brought light. Destiny was already sleeping, and the other student, Samson, had stepped out without telling me. That annoyed me a bit because it’s not proper to leave during lecture time without permission.
The light stayed from around 11 till 2, and Samson still didn’t come back during that time. So automatically, he missed his lecture for the day.
When he eventually returned about two hours later, I was quite upset. I corrected him and explained why that behavior wasn’t acceptable. He apologized, and I accepted it. We moved on, but I believe the message was clearly passed.
My lady was still around, and while we were talking, we got our usual, Kunu. My brother, Kenny, also came around.
He had actually come to show me his new AirPods. We talked about it, and he ended up buying Kunu for all of us. We drank together and spent some time before he left.
Later on, we got roasted yam, one of my favorites these days. When she asked what we should eat, that was the first thing that came to my mind, and she agreed. So we ate together.
Fast forward to when my lady and almost everyone left. I received a WhatsApp message from my brother saying he was coming to my shop with my pastor. This surprised me because I hadn’t really told my pastor about the shop yet, and he hadn’t visited since.
He eventually came, and we had a really good conversation. The first thing he said was, “Josh, you will not change.” We laughed about it and talked. Then he prayed for me, which I really needed.
As he was leaving, I asked to take a picture with him, and we did.
After that, I closed the shop around 6 pm. I met my brother at the junction, and we went home together. When I got home, I ate okra soup with eba. I was really hungry, so I enjoyed the meal well.
I also have a small typing job to do for a client, which I plan to handle later tonight when I wake up. But right now, I’m very sleepy, all I can think about is my bed.
Before I go, I should mention that I also had a lot of engagement with my students today. My phone was buzzing constantly, messages from my new students in the community, all asking questions and trying to figure things out.
It was a bit overwhelming, but I really enjoyed it. I love being busy, especially when it involves teaching and helping people grow.
So yeah, that was how my day went.
