The Diary Game: 7th May, 2026. Waking Up To Credit Alert, Having A Beautiful Day And Eaten My Cravings.
Hello guys, it’s Otidi here and you’re about to read how my day went. Honestly, I’m having the best season of my life right now — yes, and I’m grateful to God for it.
I woke up this morning to a credit alert. It was from a client I discussed a graphic design job with yesterday. He paid today so I can get the job done today and deliver tomorrow. I was super excited. It’s a big one. I got up quickly, took my bath, dressed up, and headed to the shop.
When I got to the shop, as usual, I did my cleaning. While I was cleaning, customers started coming in. But I had one issue: I realized there was no fuel in the generator. That actually happened yesterday, and I told myself I’d buy fuel after closing. Somehow, I forgot.
So this morning when a man came to do some job, I had to tell him to wait. My student was on his way from that direction, and I couldn’t leave the man at the shop alone — I don’t know him, and my systems and everything are there. So I called my student to get fuel on his way here since the man said he could wait.
The man waited for some time, but my student was taking too long, so he eventually had to leave. I felt a bit bad, not just because of the money I lost, but because I kept thinking: Will this man come back? But I had to let it go.
Moments later, my student came in with the fuel and we emptied the fuel gallon into the fuel tank.
A little after, more people started coming in for copy jobs and other small work. NEPA didn’t bring light quickly either. The light didn’t come till around 2pm. When it came, I did some small work with my students. Today we focused on Mavis Beacon since only two of my students were around. Destiny focused on Mavis Beacon while Jacob, who’s a new student, was just playing around with the system.
As the day went on, I started feeling really famished. I knew I had to eat something, so I went out and got akara, bread, and kunu .
After that, the day continued into the evening. Someone came around... John! Someone I’ve known for a while from church. I’m not sure if I should call him a friend or not, but we know each other. We sat down and we just gisted.
When it was 6pm, I was ready to close. I told john I was about to close. We locked up the shop and I took a bike home like I usually do from my junction. When I got home, I rested a bit. I wasn’t rushing things this evening. I took my time, rested, then took my shower. I told my brother, “Please get me food.” At first he got me swallow, but when I discovered it was swallow and vegetables soup, I quickly pleaded with him to make white rice for me... it's been a while i ate white rice and vegetable soup.Minutes later, the food was ready and when I tasted it, I loved it. The fish was everywhere in the vegetable soup. I really enjoyed it.
And that was it for the day. I needed to jump to bed quickly because I still have jobs to do tonight.
