Small Game That Changed My Mood

Today my day was normal. Nothing special happened. Work was almost finished and I was feeling little tired. I was not in mood to do anything. I picked up my phone and opened SteemHop. I thought I would play only one round then put phone away. Well that didn't happen. My frst round finished very quickly. I made silly mistake. I press jump little early and my game was over. I looked at screen for a second and smiled. Sometimes I think I make easiest mistakes. Instead of closing the game I started again.

This time I was more relaxed. I was not chasing big score. I only want to enjoy this game. I think that was reason my next few rounds went much better. When there is no pressure things feel easy. There was one funny moment today. I almost hit an obstacle. I was sure game had ended. But somehow I survived. I do not know if it was luck or good timing. I even laughed because I had already accepted defeat in my mind. That one moment made my whole session enjoyable. I like SteemHop because it is simple. I do not need long time to understand it. But getting good score is another story. Every round teaches something. Some days I learn to wait little longer before jumping. Other days I learn that rushing never helps.

That is why I keep coming back. This game also keep my mind busy. While playing I stop thinking about work or other things. For a few minutes there is only next jump. It feels like small break in middle of busy day. I checked the leaderboard for a while. Scores were really impressive. I do not feel bad when I see them. I actually enjoy it. It reminds me that every good player was once beginner too. They improved step by step not in one day. Rewards are also a nice part of this game. Of course everyone likes rewards. I do too. But if I am honest I enjoy challenge even more. Reaching a better score than yesterday gives me real satisfaction. Today's session was not perfect. I lost many rounds.

I made mistakes again. I closed this game with a smile. That is enough for me. I think games should make us feel relaxed not stressed. SteemHop does that for me. It gives me a few peaceful minutes a small challenge and sometimes a nice surprise. That is okay. I will still open the game play a few rounds and enjoy journey.
